COE for Sustainable Supply chain was inaugurated on 16th April, 2022 by Honourable
Vice chancellor Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Chitkara University. The vision of the centre is to
be an agile and globally recognized as the Centre of Excellence for Sustainable
Supply Chain Management aligned with organizational mission of promoting
research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in collaboration with industry, research
centres and premier academic institutions. The major objectives of the centre is to
build competencies among students, and faculty members about resilient and
sustainable supply chains.

2. Dr. Pankaj Madan - Professor of Management and Former Dean of FMS with
expertise in Market Research, management consulting and data science
and analytics. he has more than 25 years of experience in Teaching and Research.
Presently working with Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar. He has
number of research projects and papers to his credit.

7.Ashwani Khanna - Executive Director at AeroTech Support Services, is a
dynamic leader with a proven track record in driving business growth for
global airlines and airport companies. With a focus on strategic planning, he
enhances market share, increases margins, and ensures safety compliance. His
extensive experience includes roles at Delhi International Airport, Kingfisher
Airlines, and Jet Airways. Ashwani specializes in aircraft recovery and aviation
consultancy, leading successful projects like Taxibot India. A bottom-line-
focused consultant, he excels in overcoming obstacles and building global
alliances. Ashwani holds a Ph.D. in Aviation Management and an MBA in
Human Resource Development.

9.Rahul Pinjarkar - CHRO with 24+ years of diverse industry experience, has spent
14 years as a Country HR Head, fostering meritocracy, enhancing HR delivery,
managing industrial relations, and driving change. As the CHRO at Tata Chemicals,
he continues to shape the HR landscape. Previously, at Trent Hypermarket, a Tata &
Tesco venture, and Saint-Gobain, he held pivotal HR leadership roles. Rahul is
recognized as a thought leader in HR and Organizational Development, actively
participating in industry forums and conferences. He holds an MLS in Human
Resources & Organizational Behaviour and a BSc in Mathematics, Chemistry, and RAHUL PINJAKAR

Centre of Excellence for sustainable Supply Chain organized two-days National Symposium on Future of
Work, Skilling and Mobility for Sustainable Supply Chain on 28th & 29th April 2023. With the objective to
provide a forum for industry professionals to deliberate on various aspects of the logistics and supply chain
industry. Another aim was to provide a platform for scholars and academicians to present their research
work.
The symposium had two panel discussions which discussed and gave their inputs on the sustainability
initiatives taken by Government of India and skill set required for the future workforce pertaining to
logistics and supply chain industry.
The panel discussion brings out significant insights on the skill set required by new generation in
order to re-shaping the future of work and to take the sustainability to the next level. They also
discussed about the recent transformations in retail, supply chain and aviation sector emphasizing
on the adaptability, mobility and digitalization ranging from raw material sourcing, production,
storage, delivery etc.
Dr. Ashwani Khanna, keynote speaker has addressed the audience on the current trends of
sustainability specifically in the aviation sector. The panel also discussed about collaborations to
work under sustainable environment by quoting various real-life examples and sharing their
experiences from industry and academia. Paper presentations were held after the panel
discussions. More than 70 papers were received for presentations. Out of which only 17 papers were
finalized for presentation in the symposium after stringent screening.
With zest and zeal, the symposium continued on the second day with keynote speaker Mr. Balraj
Dhull, where he shared his practical experiences with the students along with the need of skill set
required by the industries in the today’s technological environment. Further, he discussed on the
continual progress as per the industry demand specially giving importance to the three key factors
i.e. Intention, Mechanism and External factors which future work force should inculcate in them.
The session was concluded with the question answer round. The winners of the symposium have
been awarded with cash prizes and mementos. The symposium has definitely added value to all
the stakeholders and the collaborators which will make students industry ready for future needs.

Design -O-hub
COE- Sustainable Supply Chain, CBS organised Design-O-hub: Explore Your Imagination event.
It aimed to showcase innovation & amp; creativity, refine unique novel ideas into real execution
& collaborate and learn from practicing enthusiasts. On the first day participants were
familiarized about the importance of design thinking for sustainable development and how
designs can be used to better recycle and reuse waste products. The Chief guest was Dr. Ajit
Nigam, CEO, NIFT foundation for Design Innovation, Delhi, The second speaker was, Dr. Vinay
Sharma, Professor, IIT Roorkee and the third speaker was Mr. Divyam Wadhwa, Founder at
Chai Nagri, TEDx Speaker. On the second day of workshop focused on expert talks on design
thinking, design patent and what is the procedure to file an Indian Design Patent.
The session was addressed by Dr. Adarsh Aggarwal, Prof. Manpal Setia and Dr. Prateek
Shrivastava. We received entries from 17 groups in best out of waste competition. An exhibition
was put up in the Sculpture Park, Chitkara University, Punjab campus
