Templates

Try out some of the Excel templates available online. Try to assess the quality of the
templates and their suitability for your own requirements.
1
Create a new workbook and customise it to use a different font size and typeface.
Save it as a template and close it. Create a new workbook using your new template
and see if your font choices are automatically set for the new workbook.

Now save your template in the Excel XLSTART folder with the name BOOK.XLTX and
save it again in the same location with the name SHEET.XLTX. (Be careful not to
overwrite any existing files in these locations with the same names.) Then close it.
2
Use the Ctrl+n shortcut to create a new workbook and then use the Shift+F11 shortcut
to insert a new worksheet. Check that your template has been used.

Create a template that contains a set of documentation sheets. Include any

information and formatting that you want to include on all such sheets. Save it to the
Office default template or Workgroup template location and then close it.
3
Right-click on an existing sheet tab, choose Insert, and find your documentation
template and insert it.
