COMPARING QUANTITIES
1) If the cost of 5 pencil boxes is ₹ 800, then find the cost of 8 such pencil boxes.
2) Out of 7000 seats in an auditorium, 75% were full. How many seats were empty?
3) The cost price of a dress is ₹ 425 and its selling price is ₹ 340, find the profit or
loss percent.
4) The cost price of an almirah is ₹ 8500 and the shopkeeper sells it a t a profit of
16%. Find its selling price.
5) Anant deposited ₹ 20000 in a bank with simple interest at the rate of 8% p.a.
Find the amount he will get from the bank after 4 years.
6) Kumar lent ₹ 6000 for 6 years at the rate of 12% p.a. and Arun lent ₹ 7500 for 5
years at the rate of 12% p.a. Find out who earned more interest and by how
much?
7) There are 12 packets of biscuits for 36 students. How many packets of biscuits
will be required for 48 students? Also, find out the same for 3 students.

PERIMETER AREA
1) A door frame of dimensions 3m x 2m is fixed on the wall of dimensions 10m x
10m. Find the total labour charges for painting the wall if the labour charges for
painting the wall are ₹ 5 per m2.
2) A field in the form of a parallelogram has a base equal to 150m and an altitude
measuring 80m. Find the cost of cultivating the field at ₹ 0.75 per m2.
3) Find the circumference and area of a circle whose radius is 21cm.
4) A cow is tied to a pole, fixed to corner of a square with side 50m, by means of
28m long rope. Find the area that the cow can graze.
5) Shiv divides a circular disc of radius 14 cm in two equal semi-circles. Find the
perimeter of both the parts.
6) From a circular paper of radius 14cm, two squares of side 5cm each and a
rectangle of length 3cm and width 2cm are removed. Find the area of the
remaining paper.
7) In the given figure, ABCE is a parallelogram. P is the midpoint of AD and AD ⊥ EC.
If AD = 20cm and EC = 18cm, find the area of the given figure.

8) A wire is bent in the shape of a rectangle with length 40cm and breadth 36cm. If
the same wire is bent in the shape of a square, what will be the measure of each
