Welcome Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen and to all my fellow teachers, it is
my pleasure to be a moderator for today’s seminar. On behalf of Saint Mark
International Academy and all the people behind this programme, I would like to
extend a most cordial welcome to all of you to the 1st day Seminar – Workshop for
Teachers. We appreciate you taking time off your busy schedules to join us today.
We hope you will learn a lot, we have lined-up for you to be fruitful and engaging.
Ladies and Gentlemen, to formally open and to give us the words of welcome, it is
my distinct privilege to introduce to you, our honorable school Principal, Dr. Wilson
D. Getalado. Let’s give him a round of applause. Thank you so much Doctor Wilson

SBM

School Based Management (SBM) or Component 1 of STRIVE is a

response to BESRA KRT 1 – enabling and empowering school
stakeholders to manage its own affairs for improved delivery of
educational services in a sustainable manner. As such, this component
is focused on the strengthening of support systems including
governance, advisory and partnership mechanisms for SBM through
practical experience in application activities in the three regions. The
application experience will be further enhanced through a range of
capability building activities.
School Based Management Is the strategy to improve education by transferring significant decision
making authority from state to district to individual school. The School based management provides
principals, teachers, students and parents control over the education process by giving them the
responsibility for decision about the programs/projects. SBM can create learning environment for the
students

The aim of school-based management is to enhance school systems,

improve teaching and learning for better student achievements, empower
school officials and train them to be better leaders, promote
accountability and, with the pandemic still around, ensure the safety and
welfare of all members of school communities.

Indeed, SBM can lead to a better education system that will benefit
students and school leaders alike.

Under the law, schools and learning centers "shall be empowered to make
decisions on what is best for the learners they serve." It is this particular
provision that provides the mandate for the implementation of SBM, the
heart of the system.

Pelaez together with his colleagues, Sir. To our Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Cora T. Asa; to

Parents, students, and benefactors...once again, a pleasant day! (Although the weather is not that
good, we can still consider today as pleasant because...[insert next stanza]) Today is indeed a
remarkable day because we will be doing two significant events in one setting..its like hitting two
birds in one stone actually. To begin with, let us all stand for the Philippine National Anthem, followed
by the Prayer, MNHS Choir. Please help me welcome our ever dynamic school principal Mrs.
Rebecca B. Namoc, in her welcome address. Lets give her a round of
