Anglia Examinations Paper Updates 2025

After a period of consultation with our major stakeholders, and in conjunction with the
reaccreditation process with AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group, we have made minor
changes to our exam papers. These changes will come into effect in February 2025.

Why?

The reasons for these changes are:

: as a result of feedback from teachers and representatives

: as a result of feedback from markers and assessors

: to improve accessibility for learners and bring certain tasks up to date

: to ensure compliance with Ofqual through our partnership with AIM

: to improve alignment to the CEFR

What?

The main changes to the exam papers are highlighted in the table below, with sample papers
also available to provide everyone, especially teachers and candidates, a clear idea of any
updates.

Changes have been made to the number of marks available on the listening papers from A1 –
C2. Listening tests at these levels now all have a total mark count of 34. In some cases, this
has affected the number of questions. For clarity of results, we wanted all listening tests from
A1 – C2 to have the same number of marks.

The Reading, Writing and Listening skills still carry equal weighting. Speaking is still awarded
separately.

Please note there is no change to the Anglia syllabus at any level. However, some phrasal verbs
have been added which are level appropriate.
