Explain about Classic workspace that is available in Maya.

Workspace

TO SWITCH WORKSPACES
Step 1 Classic workspace
In Maya's Classic workspace mode, several panels facilitate the user's
workflow, including the
Viewport, which displays the 3D scene;
the **Outliner**, providing a hierarchical view of all objects in the scene;
the **Attribute Editor**, allowing for detailed adjustments of selected object's
properties;
the **Channel Box**, for quick access to keyable attributes;
and the **Tool Shelf**, which contains frequently used tools and scripts.

Additional panels like the **Script Editor** and the **Time Slider** enhance
scripting capabilities and animation timeline navigation, respectively, creating
an integrated environment for 3D modeling, animation, and rendering tasks.

Step 2 Outliner panel

The Outliner panel in Maya provides a comprehensive view of all the objects in
your scene, allowing users to manage and organize their assets efficiently. One
significant advantage of using the Outliner in the Classic workspace is its
straightforward layout, which resembles traditional file explorers, making it
accessible for users familiar with file hierarchy. It allows for easy selection,
renaming, and grouping of objects, facilitating better organization of complex
scenes. Additionally, the Outliner supports the addition of filters and search
functions, enabling users to quickly locate specific elements, thereby enhancing
workflow productivity.

Step 3 Attribute Editor

The Attribute Editor panel in Maya provides a comprehensive interface for

adjusting the properties of selected objects, materials, and lights, allowing users
to manipulate attributes in a detailed manner. One advantage of using the
Attribute Editor in the Classic workspace is its straightforward layout that
accommodates users who prefer traditional approaches, offering better visibility
and easier access to detailed attributes without the clutter of additional features
found in newer workspaces. This accessibility can enhance productivity for
experienced users who are familiar with the classic interface and want to
streamline their workflow.
Step 4 Channel Box

The Channel Box panel in Maya is a versatile tool that provides a streamlined
interface for editing and managing attributes of selected objects in the Classic
workspace. One of its key advantages is that it allows for quick adjustments to
parameters like translation, rotation, scale, and custom attributes without
navigating through multiple menus. This efficiency enhances workflow,
especially during animation and rigging, as artists can easily access and modify
attributes on the fly, keeping the focus on their creative process rather than
getting bogged down in technical details. The integration of the Channel Box
within the Classic workspace also maintains familiarity for users who prefer a
more traditional Maya layout.

Step 5 Tool Shelf

The Tool Shelf panel in Maya’s Classic workspace offers a convenient and
customizable way to access frequently used tools and commands. Its primary
advantage is the ability to streamline workflows by allowing users to quickly
select and utilize tools without navigating through various menus, thereby
improving efficiency and productivity. Additionally, the Tool Shelf can be
customized to include personal favorites or specific tools tailored to individual
projects, enabling users to optimize their workspace according to their specific
needs.

Step 6 To switch WORKSPACES

Do either one of the following:

 Select an item from the Workspace selector at the far right of the main menu
bar.
 Select an item from the Windows > Workspaces menu.

Step 7 Reset Workspace to Factory Default

At any time, you can restore the original configuration of the workspace by
switching to it and selecting Windows > Workspaces > Reset "[Workspace]" to
Factory Default (or selecting Reset Current Workspace from
the Workspace drop-down)

 Step 8 Revert the Change

Changes to a custom workspace are simply saved. If you have made changes
but have not yet switched to another workspace or closed Maya, you can revert
the changes the same way you would revert an override change.
