clothing details, creating an intimate connection that captures the
warmth and innocence of childhood.
A sweet little soul
Focal Length: 26mm
Aperture: f/5.6
Distance between the camera and the child: 2m
Increasing the distance between the camera and the child made the
background clearer, adding more context to the scene. This gives the
image a stronger narrative, showing the child within their environment
and enhancing the overall understanding of the scene.

image of bougainvillea flowers in a vibrant pink hue, with a blurred
background of palm trees and a sunset sky. The focus on the flowers in
the foreground, combined with the softened background, creates a
sense of depth and draws the eye to the delicate details of the leaves and
the small white flowers in the center.

Through this exercise, I gained hands-on experience in controlling depth of field and its impact on image
composition. I realized that settings like aperture and the distance between the camera and the subject
not only affect sharpness but also play a role in directing the viewer’s attention and highlighting
important details. This experience made me more aware of the importance of selecting the right settings
based on the desired outcome, which will help me improve my photography skills in the future.
Jomanah:
Through this assignment, I realized how clarity manipulation can be a powerful tool in guiding
the eye and conveying emotions. Adjusting the sharpness of the background is not just a
technical modification; it is a way to create depth and meaning, where what we choose to
reveal or obscure reflects our creative vision. Blending the background with the scene in a
slightly blurred manner reminds me of how memory works—where insignificant details fade
away, leaving only the essence to tell the story as we feel it, not just as we see it
