Networking
The connection of computers that are linked together is called a computer network.
Wireless or cable media can be used to establish a network connection. Computers and tools are
linked in any network through hardware and software. Computer networks simply use links and
nodes to operate. Devices that enable data communication are known as Nodes. Hubs, switches,
modems, etc. are a few examples (geeksforgeeks.org, 2023-24).
Sun System & Consultants is a well-known IT company which is located in Perth Australia Now
we going to build an IT company on two floors in which there are four departments each of
Harper and Cacis. I am going to work on Harper Cacis's 1st floor to design floor diagrams and
network design.
My team members have been tasked to develop a suitable network structure for a new project.
Our main concern is to identify the requirements and to be able to design a simple topology
diagram that meets the network needs.
The floor plan is meant to offer a visual representation of the arrangement of the building space.
This design is very simple and every room is under CCTC controls and tight security which
makes it the visitor to get a consultation from reception. On the 1st floor, there are five rooms for
different purposes. Now when we enter the main entrance where the reception room is available
there are provided pc, printer, telephone, CCTV and other electronic gadgets. There is a 1 nd floor
for a waiting area for visitors providing sofas and television displaying the news about our
company's progress. There is a gym area for body fitness and maintaining the body regarding
many tools required in the gym section beside the gym room, there is also a coffee room for
drinks and food. There are also small rooms for restrooms for men and women. Similarly, every
room requires pc, printer, television, CCTV, biometric, and Wi-Fi for cell users.

Switch is a device that connects devices inside a network to establish a local area network. It
connects and transmits data packets to and from devices on a local area network. (cisco, 2024).
2. Router
A router is a network device. It receives and sends data on the computer network. it also works
as a path or gateway that passes the data between one or more local Area Networks (juniper.net,
2024).
Network range:205.168.1.2-205.168.1.16
The 1st floor of Harper has a unique organization IP address of 205.168.1.0. The subnet mask is
255.255.255.0 on the 1st floor. The default Gateway is 205.168.1.1 and it works as a central point
for excessing networks. The broadcast address is 205.168.1.255 which is used to send messages
on a network. There are many devices like PCs, printers, CCTV, Wi-Fi, repeaters, telephones,
biometrics, television, etc using the same subnet mask.
Test Log
What was tested: Internal Routing Date: 10/01/2024
Expected Output Actual Output
Computer with IP address of 205.168.1.2/24 Ping after 205.168.1.1 after routing
from reception room ping with IP of configuration shows 100% connect with reply
205.168.1.5/24 from Gym Room after from 205.168.1.4
routing configuration done.
Configuring network devices using the command-line interface that the simulation environment
offers is referred to as CLI configuration. A simulated environment for planning, setting up, and
bugging network infrastructures is offered by Cisco Packet Tracer. It includes a CLI interface
that is similar to that of real Cisco networking devices.
Most of Cisco network devices, like switches and routers, can be set up using a CLI (Command
Line Interface). The CLI is a based on text interface. Configuration commands require entry
personally, and display commands are used to see the router or switch's output. Despite the CLI
being used for most tasks, there are GUIs (Graphical User Interface) for routers, switches, and
firewalls too. This may seem basic, but the CLI is much easier to use than any visual interface
because it offers so many commands at your command. likewise switching full locations from a
device to a different device has become easier (networklessons, 2024).
