1. LOGIN AND SETTINGS
New password
Login Link: app.identific.com

You’ll get an email with a link to create your password. Once


it’s set, click Submit to verify. To start using the service, just
click Go to Login.

IIf you don’t have an Identific login, just reach out to your
school’s Identific administrator or teacher for help!

1. LOGIN AND SETTINGS

Log in by entering your username (email address) and password.

Login Click the settings icon in the top bar to access your personal settings. Here, you
can change your password, email, time zone, and the interface language.

2. MAIN MENU
Assignments: View all tasks assigned to you.
Support: Reach out to a support specialist for help.

If your educator or university hasn’t assigned any tasks yet, you’ll


see this message in the main assignments window: "You haven't
received any assignments yet."

Once an assignment is created and assigned to you, you’ll get an


email with the assignment details, deadline, and a direct link to
submit your document for text similarity checking.

3. MAIN ASSIGNMENT WINDOW
In the main assignment window, you’ll find all your assigned tasks in one place.

1. Name – The name of your assignment.


2. Maximum Resubmits – How many times you can upload your work.
3. Deadline – The final date to upload your document.

Heads up! If you miss the deadline, you won’t be able to upload your document directly. You’ll need to ask your educator for
another chance.

To view the assignment, just click on its title.

4. ASSIGNMENT WINDOW

1. Title - The name of the assignment.


2. Creator – The name of the educator or staff member who assigned it.
3. Deadline – When you need to submit the document.
4. Resubmissions – How many times you can upload.
5. Upload – Add your document here.

4.1 UPLOAD DOCUMENT

If you haven’t uploaded a document yet, you’ll see "No documents uploaded". To upload, simply drag and drop
your file onto the “Upload” area or click the "Upload your file" icon.

Heads up! Before uploading, take a quick look at the Privacy Policy by clicking the link next to the checkbox.
Once you’re good with it, just check the box to agree.

It’s a quick step to keep things safe and secure.

Service accepts: .docx, .pdf, .odt, .doc, .rtf, .txt, .pptx, .pages, ZIP, TAR.
Max file size: 100 MB.

4.2 DOCUMENT REPORT AND STATUS

A green icon means your document was uploaded and checked


successfully.
If your teacher allows it, click the document title to view the similarity
report.

4.3 UPLOAD VIA LINK

As soon as your lecturer shares the link, you’re good to upload your work!

Links e.g.

1 - Educator. 2 - Assignment title. 3 - Your name and surname. 4 - Your email address. 5 - Choose your document. 6 - Submit
the document

Once you submit your document, you’ll get a confirmation email.

4.4 UPLOAD VIA EMAIL

Once your teacher shares the email from the Identific system, you can upload your document by sending it as an email
attachment.

5. REPORT WINDOW

The report control window has three parts:

1. Top Bar – Shows document info.


2. Left Side – Your text with highlights.
3. Right Side – Control panel with indicators: similarity, paraphrasing, citing, inclusions, and
issues.

In the top left corner, you’ll see your name and the title of the uploaded document (1).
In the top right corner, you’ll find:
Download PDF report (2)
Number of pages and word count (3).

Want to add some comments? Just press Comments below (4).

COMMENTING

You can add comments for yourself or the teacher while reviewing the report. Just click the Comments button in the top-right corner. 📝
Here’s how:
1. Click to turn on commenting.
2. Pick a spot in the document (it’ll turn green).
3. Type your comment in the box on the right.
4. Hit Save.

That’s it! Both you and the teacher can see the comments.

1. Name, surname You can edit or delete any comment. To add a new
one, just pick a spot in the document where you
want to comment.

6. SIMILARITY REPORT
The content is highlighted in six colors, each with a
specific meaning

SIMILARITY Red means the text matches other sources.

Yellow shows possible paraphrasing or hidden words from


PARAPHRASING
other sources.

CITING Green highlights quotes.

INCLUSIONS Purple means there might be an


incorrect citation.

ISSUES Blue highlights inserted characters that might point to problem


areas.

ARTIFICIAL
Grey means the text is flagged as possibly AI-generated.
INTELLIGENCE

6.1 SIMILARITY SCORE

The Similarity Score shows what percentage of the text matches other sources.

THE SIMILARITY SCORE HAS FOUR SOURCE FILTERS:

All Sources – Everything found in the document.


The Internet – Public online resources.
DOI – Scientific article sources.
Database – Your personal database sources.

The source card shows the percentage, source name, and a


reference link.

The percentage tells you how much of the source appears


in the document.
Click the link icon to view the source.
Clicking on the source card in the source bar takes you

straight to where the source appears in the document.

6.2 PARAPHRASING SCORE
This shows how many paraphrased or changed words are in the document.

Note: If you remove a source, the paraphrasing score will change too.

The paraphrasing card shows where paraphrasing is detected in the document.

1216/72 means: 1216 words come from the source, and 72 of them were paraphrased or added.
Click the link to see the source used for the paraphrase.
If you decide the words shouldn’t count as paraphrasing, click the remove icon (X) to exclude them.

6.3 CITING SCORE
The citation score shows how much of the text is quoted.
Click the card in the citations bar or the green text to see a quote.
The card shows the page number and how many words are in the quote.

6.4 INCLUSION SCORE


A quote should be between 10-250 words.
Smaller or larger text blocks won’t count as quotes, even if they follow the rules.
If a quote fully matches the source and overlaps on both sides (left and right), it’s flagged as improper citation (inclusion).

6.5 ISSUES

Cheat detection uses smart techniques to catch academic tricks or misbehavior.


For example:
Hidden characters from other scripts.
Images used instead of text.
These tricks won't slip past the system!

Issue detection catches tricky text problems like:

Letters from different language scripts. 🌐


Residual characters left from copy-pasting (like from PDFs). 📋
White spaces disguised as characters.

6.6 AI DETECTION SCORE

This tool checks for AI-generated text, which is shown in gray.

Over 50%? The text was probably written by AI. 🤖


Under 49%? It’s likely human-written. 👤
Use this as a guide when reviewing!

6.7 DOWNLOAD PDF REPORT

Once the check is complete, click the green circle icon in the top-left corner to download your report. ⬇️

Choose what you need:

1. Summary Report – A quick one-page overview with scores.

2. Full Report – The whole document with highlights, sources, and percentages.

3. AI Report – The full document with AI-generated text highlighted and the AI score.

The icons show the status of your report:

⏳ Yellow Hourglass – Still generating.


✅ Green Download – Ready to download.
🚩 Red Flag – Something went wrong, contact support.
⏳ Red Hourglass – Not started yet
