Project Report Format

M.Sc. (CA&IT) sem VI


Project report is a written document submitted by the students on
the projectwork/assignment carried by them. The report is a
formal document. It shouldtherefore be presented with a lot of
care and thought. Before preparing the report, student should go
through the following guidelines.

Guidelines for project report preparation

Writing a report requires skills. It is a written


presentation of the work, which tellsabout the project. It is not
adocument, which is meant only for the author. It is in fact a
valuable record, whichis often referred to by various persons
working in that area. It is therefore essential to ensure that
the report is written, organized andpresented in such a manner
that a reader has no difficulty in understanding it. It is still
worthwhile torecapitulate the important points regarding the
layout, style and presentationtechniques of a report.

The following section provides a format and certain


guidelines on how towrite a report for the project.

1. Set Page size A4


2. Font size for chapter content: Times new roman 12 size
3. Line spacing 1.5
4. Project title page should be as per attached format
5. Left margin 30mm and right margin 20mm
6. Title of new chapter should be of size 18
7. Section and subsection titles size should be 16 and 14
respectively also provide number to sections and subsections
e.g., 1, 1.1,1.1.2 Don't use bullets.
8. Top margin 15mm and bottom margin 22mm size
9. Each chapter must start with new fresh page
10. Alignment of all the paragraphs must be "Justify"
11. Every figure or diagram must have proper number and border

12. Don’t write page number on title page. Before chapter 1, all
pages must be numbers with roman numbers. Page number will start
from chapter 1.

Your Draft Reports will be in following Format.

 Project completion letter from company give roman
 Project completion letter from college numbers to
 Acknowledgement this fields
 Table of content (Index page)
