Lesson 4
1)
The line graph illustrates the amount of chicken, beef, lamb and fish that
citizens in country in Europe consumed between 1979 and 2004. It can be
seen clearly from the chart that fish was not favored by dweller in the
country. In addition, while the consumption of chicken increased
significantly, that of beef, lamb and fish witnessed a downaward trend
during the time frame.
To be more specific, in 1979, one person in the country consumed
approximately 150 grams of beef and lamb every week, which was triple
the figure for fish. The consumption of chicken per head took the leading
position of 210 grams on a weekly basis.
During the period, the comsumption of beef and lamb dropped to only
100 grams and 60 grams per person per week. And whereas people
tended to eat more chicken, which was shown by 250 grams per person
per week in 2004, the weekly consumption of fish per head remained
roughly the same at 50 grams
2)
The line graph details the proportion of families in one country using
electrical household appliances to chores at home from 1920 to 2019.
Overall, These devices became more popular over the period under study.
Another noteworthy observation is that while nobody used the washing
machine at the beginning, it coupled with the vacuum cleaner, became the
most popular devices from 1960 to 2019.
To be more specific, almost no households were equipped with
refrigerator, but over four decades, there was a remarkable surge, with
the percentage of households increasing to 90%. Similar patterns, though
to a lesser extent, were seen in the figures for the washing machine and
vacuum cleaner, which grew considerably from around 35% to 70% in
the first 40 years.
From 1960 to 2019, the proportion of households furnished with
refrigerators and vacuum cleaners continued to climb, reaching a peak of
100%, while the figure for families equipped with washing machines
slightly increased to 75%, despite a negligible drop in 1980
