Process
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of: Southeast
Asian literature as mirror to a shared heritage; coping
strategies in processing textual information; strategies
in examining features of a listening and viewing
material; structural analysis of words and propaganda
techniques; and grammatical signals for
opinion- making, persuasion, and emphasis.
B. Performance Standard The learner transfers learning by composing and
delivering a persuasive speech based on an
informative essay featuring use of properly
acknowledged information sources, grammatical
signals for opinion-making, persuasion, and emphasis,
and appropriate prosodic features, stance, and
behavior.
C. Learning Competencies/Objectives At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
Evaluate the words and expressions as tools
used in propaganda techniques;
demonstrate the importance of
understanding the intentions of words
used in a propaganda;
examine a propaganda in terms of
techniques and intention of words used.

Activity 1. YOUR TAGLINE SOUNDS FAMILIAR
A. INTRODUCTION
Directions: Guess the name of the television commercial
by listening to its tagline.
1. “May pasobra, dahil special ka.” – REBISCO
2. “Oh, hooray for today.” – MCDONALDS
3. “Batang may laban.” – BONAKID
4. “We’ve got it all for you.” – SM MALLS

Propaganda
It is a form of communication that is aimed at influencing
attitudes, perspectives, and emotions of people or
communities toward some cause or position by
presenting only one side of an argument.
It is usually repeated and presented over a wide
variety of media in order to attract the interests of a
greater majority. Propaganda is always biased and can
be negative or positive.

V. ASSIGNMENT Directions: Consider yourself as a professional
advertisement maker, do the following task:
· Create your advertisement with a brand name,
image, logo, and tagline.
· You can use any propaganda technique of your desire.
· Use any application or website to edit your
assignment.
· Size must be 8.5 by 11 in Portrait or Landscape.
· It will be passed on February 28, 2023, Tuesday.
