My Next Steps

Congratulations, Alfitri, on your admission to Texas A&M University! Welcome to the Aggie Family!

Official Transcript Processing You must provide official transcripts to replace transcripts uploaded
during the application process before you will be permitted to register for classes. NOTE: After
your official transcript is delivered, it will require several days for it to be downloaded (if
electronic) or scanned (if paper) and then imported to our document database, associated with
your applicant record, forwarded to an analyst for review, and processed for completion of the
transcript requirement. Please allow 5 business days after receipt before submitting any
question(s).

Student Resources
Before you begin your academic program, you may wish to view some resources available for new
graduate students at the Graduate and Professional School (http://ogaps.tamu.edu).

New Graduate Student Orientation

We encourage you to participate in the New Graduate Student Orientation
(https://grad.tamu.edu/knowledge-center/dates-and-deadlines/new-graduate-student-orientation), offered
by the Graduate and Professional School. Some departments and colleges have a separate orientation
for their new graduate students. For information on departmental or college orientations that provides
details for specific graduate programs or majors, check with your graduate advisor or other department
staff.

Grad Camp
Grad Camp (https://gradcamp.tamu.edu/) is the extended orientation program for graduate and
professional students new to Texas A&M University. Texas A&M is a unique American institution, unlike
anywhere else in the world, and Grad Camp helps you make the most of your time at this great
university. We do this by connecting you with other incoming students through small discussion groups
led by current graduate and professional students, providing resources to be successful on campus, and
a brief introduction to the culture, traditions and school songs. Your welcome to the Aggie family does not
end there though; we host events on campus and in the community to aid in your transition to your new
home town! Grad Camp is hosted by the Graduate and Professional Student Government each August.

Immunizations/Vaccinations
Texas Senate Bill 1107 (now TEC 51.9192) requires all students (under age 22) entering an
institution of higher education to either receive a vaccination against bacterial meningitis or meet
certain criteria for declining such a vaccination before the first day of the semester.

degree award before you will be permitted to register for classes.

arrive on campus?
A: If your transcript is from an institution outside of the United States, you may bring your original transcript
and degree certificate/diploma to the Aggie One Stop when you arrive on campus. If you wish to keep your
original international transcript, we will make a copy for our records and return the original to you. Be aware
that you will not be permitted to register for classes until the official transcript(s) have been submitted.

Q: May I defer my admission to a different semester?

A: You may request that your program defer your admission to a different term; however, this request must be
