36. Read the text carefully and answer the questions


Basant has a pack of 52 playing cards. He is trying to find out the number of ways to choose the
different types of card combinations using the knowledge he acquired in the chapter Permutations
and Combinations. Here are some combinations he is trying to get.
(a) What is the number of ways of choosing 4 cards from a pack of 52 playing cards?
(b) In how many of these four cards are of the same suit?
37. Read the text carefully and answer the questions:

Students should join National Service Scheme if they want to contribute to nation-building activities
like crime prevention, social integration, etc. Students should join National Cadet Corps if they want
to make military education and training as it will help to make boys disciplined and patriotic.
In a class of 60 students, 30 opted for NCC,32 students opted for NSS. One of the students is
selected at random from class. Based on above information, answer the following questions:
(i) Find the probability that student has opted only NCC.
(ii) Find the probability that student has opted for both NCC and NSS.
(iii) Find the probability that students have opted either NCC or NSS.

(iii) Find the probability that student has opted neither NCC nor NSS.
