E conjecture and explain why you think it is important in your home.

The device that I think is essential for me is probably my computer, 1 which is a new
state-of-the-art gaming computer. I use this pretty much every day and for quite a long
time every day as well. You see I work from home and I do all my work on the computer.

It’s such an important tool for my work … perhaps the most important. 2 For instance, I
need it to send emails, have online meetings with clients and do research for my
projects. It basically makes my working life a lot easier.

3 I don’t just use it for work though; I also stream the TV through the computer and I
rarely leave the house to go shopping these days; I just buy everything online.

It’s so important to me because it really saves my time and makes my life so much more
convenient. 4 If I didn’t have my computer at home, I don’t know what I’d do. I’d feel a lot
more isolated, and would be lost for entertainment. My mum says I’ve become addicted
to the internet and I can see her point, but if I’m addicted, then I think most of the world
is too. 5 Funnily enough, my mum’s just got a computer herself. I’ve got to go and show
her how to use it next week.
