DAILY LESSON PLAN THEME 2: Exploring Our Community QUARTER: Second

Content Standard The learners understand the value of discipline, honesty, respect, friendship, and care and concern.

Performance Standard The learners demonstrate proper discipline, honesty, respect, friendship, and care towards other people.

Learning Competencies The learners describe the different places and persons belonging in one’s community

 Identify different places in the community where the needs of families are made and come from..
Objectives  Demonstrate differentiated acivities given by the teacher.
 Give importance of having the ability to do on his/her own.
Content Focus There are places in our community where our needs are made and come from.

BLOCKS OF TIME Activity


ARRIVAL TIME/ FREE  Greet the learners while they are going inside the classroom using hand shake.
PLAY  While waiting for others, encourage learners to choose a toy they are interested in from the learning nook.

MEETING TIME 1 Preliminary Activity
(15mins)  Let the learners perform together the National Anthem, Prayer and Exercise

heard, current events.

 Also ask how is our weather today? (rainy, sunny, cloudy, windy)

Look at your classmates, let's count the girls. (Have each child stand up to be counted. Repeat this with the
boys). How many girls are there? The men? If so, how many girls and boys are there? Let's count.

Group I: Cover All Food Bingo Game

Objective: Match objects, pictures based on properties /attributes in one-to-one correspondence.


Materials: food bingo cards, individual pictures of diferrent places where food are made and come from
Preparation: Divide pieces of cardboard into 9 sections. Each frame must have a drawing of food items. Prepare
individual cards for the different places where food obtained. .Use these as call out cards.

Procedure:
1. Distribute 1 bingo card to each student.
2. Take one call card at a time and let the children match this on the food in the bingo card frame.
3. The child who can cover all the food in the bingo card first, wins.

Group II: Market Categorizing

Objective: Sort and classify objects according to one attribute/ property (shape, color, size, function,/use)
Materials: pictures of different places in the community where needs are made and come from , pictures of food
items, glue, scissors

Procedure:
1.Let the learners cut pictures of food items.
2.Ask the learners to paste together similar food items to the different places in the community whwere needs are
made and come from.

2. Independent Activity
 Let the learners answer the activity sheets individually.

SUPERVISED RECESS
(15 MINS) The teacher commends the learners for the work they did in Circle Time 1 and tells them to prepare for recess time
by washing their hands. Encourage sharing especially if not all children have food.

QUIET/ NAP TIME (10 The teacher reminds the children to pack away the things they used in recess time, clean up their eating area,

Procedure:
1. Rote count up to the number the learners know.
2. Show the learners a jar of candy.
3. Ask the learners to guess how many candies are in the jar.
4. Take note of the numbers that the learners give.
5. Explain that what they are doing is making estimations.
INDOOR/ OUTDOOR Mini-store Pretend Play
PLAY (35 MINS)
Objective: Express one’s idea/self freely through creative ways (drawing, body movement,
singing, dancing) based on story listened to
Materials: big boxes of grocery items, toy food,

1. Teacher will prepare dramatic play area and will set it up like a sari-sari store.
2. Let the learners choose their roles and play pretend at the Dramatic Play Area.
