Activity-1

Aim:-To assemble the component of given electric curent

Material Required: Resistor, ammeter, voltmeter, battery, Key, Rheostat

Procedure:-connect the component as given in the diagram Close the key and check the deflections in
ammeter and voltmeter

Result :-~ the components of the electrical circuit was assembled.

Precautions: The positive terminal battery should be connected to positive terminal of ammeter and
voltmeter

The ammeter should be connected in series and voltmeter in parallel

Achvity-2

Aim: ~ To assemble a household emcuit comprising three bulbs, three switches, a fuse is power source

Materials Required: For Three bulbs (4000, 220v), Huree Switch socked, a fuse of 1A, plug. connecting wire
etc.

Principal: Fon household activities in India, it requires 220v and 50Hz supply with current ranging SA. All
the appliance are always connected in series.

Procedure: connect but bulb B1, B2, B3 with Switches S., S2, S3 in series to form bulb switch, sets

1)connect the bulb-Switch set in parallel with each other.

2) connect the fuse in series with power sowice

3)check the current circuit and start.

Result: Household circuit assembly is completed and installed with safety

Precautions: - 1) care should be taken while walking with mams 2)Use insultated gloves to make connections

Activity-3

Aim: To draw a diagram of given open circuit comprising at least a battery, plug key. resistor, rehostal,
ammeler, voltmeter, connecting wires, etc.

Materials Required:- A given open circuit compromising a least a cell or a battery plug, Key, resistor
rheostat, ammeter, voltmeter, connecting wires ete.

Procedure:-~

1)Draw the open circuit diagram

2)List down the components which are not connected in proper order.

3)Draw the corrred circuit diagram.

Result= The electrical circuit is assembled as per the corrected circuit diagram

Precautions: 1)The key should be closed

2) connect all connection properly

Activity: 4

Aim: To identify LED, transitive, a resistor and a capacitor.

Materials Required: A collection of LED, transistor, resistor and capacitor.

Principle:- LED Light emmiting diode is a terminal device, It conduck when forward biased. It emits
light while conducting

Transistor ~ It is a three terminal device. The terminal represents emitter (E), Base (B) and collector (c)

Resistor It is two terminal device it conducts and resist in both directions.

Capacitor= It is a two terminal device. It does not conduct but stores some charge when D-e voltage is
applied

Result: A LED, a transistor, a resistor, a are identified capacitor,

Activity-5

Aim: To observe the reflection and lateral deviation of a beam of light passing through a glass slab.

Materials Required. A sheet of paper, glass a slab. drawing pins, meter scale, pencil, ete

Principle: When a ray of light is incident on one side of parallel edge glass slab, it emerges from the Other paralld
surface in same lateral deviation, lateral deviation is directly proportional to thickness of glass Slab.

Procedure:1) On a cwhite paper trace the glass slab and draw the normal (N,N) and incident ray AB

2)Now, put 2 pins at 1 and m at 5-10 cm apart.

3)Put the slab and at QR try to place pins at the position of images of pins and mark it as '1' and m' now join it.

4)Draw normal at @ and measure Li=le, now repeat the process by placing the slab breath wise.

Result

• the ray of light emerging from the glass slab is parallel to the incident ray direction, but it laterally deviated.

The lateral deviation of the emergent ray with resped to the incident ray is directly proportional to the thickness
of the glass slab.

Activity-6

Aim: to observe diffraction of light due to a thin slit.

Materials Required: two razer blades, one adhesives tape, source of light, a piece of
black paper.

Principle:- when a beam of light passes through an apperture, i't spreads out and
penetrates into the geometrical shadow of the obstacle this phenomenon is called
diffraction. the diffraction pattern due to a single slit consist of a large central bright
band, surrounded on both sides by coloured bands of decreasing intensity and
frindge width.

Procedure:-
1)make a fine, single slit using razor blades.

3) Observed the diffraction pattern on the black paper

2)put light source on the slit

4) Trace the diffraction pattern by pencil

Result: Light waves Incident on very fine apperture bends around the corners and eschibet phenomenon of diffraction...

Precautions:-
1)Handel Handle blades carefully 2) Observe diffraction paten carefully
