PRACTICAL 1

Question : View the file you have created using print preview option.

Steps:

1) Type the paragraph above as it is using ‘Calibri font’, font size 12.

2) Change the font type to ‘lucida calligraphy’ and size to 14.

3) Alignment to your paragraph to right margin.

4) Save this file as Ms.-word.doc in ‘my documents’ folder using save as option.

5) Edit some part of your document and save again using the save option.
6) Close the file.
7) Open this file again using the open option from office button.

8) View the file you have created using the print preview option.

Ques: Use of strikethrough, subscript, superscript
Steps:
1) Select your document by using select all option and change the font size of your document.

2) Underline the ‘Microsoft -word’ using underline option.

4) Create small number below the text baseline of the word using subscript (ctrl+=)

Steps:
1) Click on the office button in Ms. word.

Steps:
1) View your document in portrait and landscape view using orientation option in Page layout menu.
2) Change the color of the text using font color option.

Prevention : when in public places, especially if they are


having symptoms such as cough, fever etc. to avoid direct
droplet contact. Stay at home as much as possible. Avoid
physical contact like handshakes, hand holding or hugs.
Avoid touching surfaces such as table tops, chairs, door
handles etc.

Ques: Perform mail-merge using wizard with the predefined address list saved in excel workbook.
Steps:
1) Open MS. Word.
2) Click on the mailing tab.
3) Select mail merge option from toolbar.

4) Select option step by step mail wizard from drop down menu.
5) Step 1: Starting document.
6) Step 2: Select recipient list, after clicking on it, it will ask for either to use an existing list from
database or type a new list. Click on type new list.
7) Then click on the existing recipient list.
8) After clicking it, a dialog box is open for entering database of recipients. Enter the details. You
can add a new entry or delete an existing entry or customize the columns by clicking on the
respective button.
9) Click the address block and select the option from drop down menu as per your choice and click
on greeting line select your option.
10) Preview your letter.
11) Complete the merge.
12) Click on finish and merge.

Ques: Perform the following task:
1) Record a macro that will apply a yellow highlighting. Name the macro: “Approved” and
assign it the shortcut alt+k.
➢Open MS. Word
➢Start a macro reader.
➢To do this in Word on the view tab click the lower part of the macro button and then click record
macro

In the record macro dialog box, in the macro name box, replace the default name of the
macro by meaningful names such as, reverse letters.

In the press new shortcut key box press different key or press sequence that you want to use
and then click assign.
To do this in word, on the view tab, click the lower part of the macros button and, then click
stop recording.

Then click the shortcut key on the yellow highlighted line


2) Insert a bookmark next to the “Attendance list” title. Name it “Title”
Steps:
1) Select the text where you want to apply bookmark.
2) Go to insert tab. Click on bookmark.
3) Give a name to your bookmark and click on add.
4) Bookmark is created.
5) If you want to navigate through a large document, then go to bookmark and directly go to that
location by using it.

3) Add the word “Back” below the list and make it a hyperlink to the “Attendance list” title.
Steps:
1) Select the text where you want to apply hyperlink settings.
2) Click on the insert tab.
3) Click on hyperlink.
4) Select from the given options, where you want to apply hyperlink either on a web address or on
same document or on another document.
5) To place hyperlink within same document, select the heading where you want to reach after
clicking hyperlink. And press OK.
