3. Presentation
Present the circle on the board. Ask pupils to read the
concept from the information chart on the board.
(Deductive Method/ Explicit Teaching)
4. Discussion/Abstraction
(Upon discussion the teacher will fill the blank circle with corresponding parts.)
What is a chord?
How will you describe/define a chord?
What is diameter?
How will you describe/define a diameter?
What is a radius?
How will you describe/define a radius?
What is central angle?
How will you describe/define a central angle?
What is inscribed angle?
How will you describe/define an inscribed angle?
5. Fixing Skills
A. Pupils will have a contest in forming a circle puzzle with different parts. Circles will
be used in individual activities.
Central Angle =
Inscribed Angle=
B. Pupils will show the terms to be asked by the teacher by using their colored paper.
Family of color green will be used in this activity.
6. Application/ICT Integration
Read and click the correct answer. A circle figure will be presented on the board.
1. Based on the plane figure, which are the chord?
A) TS and WV C) OA and OZ
B) AZ and OZ D) TS and AZ
7. Generalization
Chord is a line segment joining two points on the circle.
Diameter is chord that connects two points on the circle and passes through the
center of the circle. Every diameter is a chord.
Center is the middle point of the circle. It is the name of the circle.
Radius is a line segment from the center of the circle to any point on the circle. The
radius of a circle is one half of the diameter.
Central Angle is an angle formed by two radii.
Inscribed Angle is an angle whose vertex is on the circle.
IV. Evaluation Directions: Read and choose the letter of the correct answer.
1.What is the diameter in the circle?
A. BF B. CE C. BG D. OH
2. Which is the chord in the figure?
A. OD B. BF C. CO D. OF
3. Among the following, which are the group of radii?
A. HO, BG B. CE, BF
C. OD, OF D. OH, BG
4. Which of following is the meaning of central angle?
A. It is a line segment joining two points on the circle.
B. It is chord that connects two points on the circle and passes through the center of
the circle.
C. It is an angle formed by two radii.
D. is an angle whose vertex in on the circle.
5. How can you describe an inscribed angle?
A. It is a line segment joining two points on the circle.
B. It is an angle formed by two radii.
C. It is chord that connects two points on the circle and passes through the center of
the circle.
D. It is an angle whose vertex in on the circle.
V. Assignment Directions: Analyze the figure and find the Chord, Diameter, Radius, Central Angle and Inscribe
Angle.
