These are the terms related to circle:

Center is the middle point of the circle. It is the name of the circle.
Chord is a line segment joining two points on the circle. In Circle O above, CE and BG
are chords.
Diameter is chord that connects two points on the circle and passes through the
center of the circle. Every diameter is a chord. In Circle O, BF is the diameter.
Radius is a line segment from the center of the circle to any point on the circle. The
radius of a circle is one half of the diameter. In circle O, line segments OB, OF, OD
and OH are radii.
Central Angle is an angle formed by two radii. In circle O, ‫ ے‬BOH, ‫ ے‬BOD, and
<HOF are central angles.
Inscribed Angle is an angle whose vertex is on the circle. In circle O, ‫ ے‬FBG is the
inscribed angle.

4. Discussion/Abstraction
(Upon discussion the teacher will fill the blank circle with corresponding parts.)
What is a chord?
How will you describe/define a chord?
What is diameter?
How will you describe/define a diameter?
What is a radius?
