Ba’zi fe’llar gerund ham, infinitive ham qabul qiladi, lekin ma’no farq qiladi:

"Only to" kutilmagan natija yoki hafsalani pir qiladigan holatlar uchun
ishlatiladi:
I arrived at the station, only to find that the train had left. (Men
stansiyaga yetib bordim, lekin poyezd ketib bo‘lgan ekan.)
She was about to leave when you called. (U jo‘nab ketmoqchi edi, siz
qo‘ng‘iroq qilganingizda.)
Agar biror fe’l gerund yoki infinitive bilan ishlatilishi mumkinligiga ishonchingiz
komil bo‘lmasa, ushbu qoidalar yordam beradi:
She helped me carry (bare infinitive) the bags. ✅ (Ikki variant ham
to‘g‘ri.)
9.2. "Dare" fe’li ham to’siz yoki "to" bilan kelishi mumkin
Example:

🔹 She stopped to smoke. → (Meaning: She paused another action in order to
smoke.)
