A. Setting the Stage

Directions: Read the sentences carefully. Identify the complete subject and the
complete predicate of the sentence. Encircle the complete subject and
box the complete predicate.

4. Watching late night shows is not good for children.
5. These mangoes are sweet.

3. Motivation(Arrange to Suit)

Directions: Arrange the words to form a meaningful sentence. Let the letter
structures be your guide. The first group to come up with the correct
answer at the shortest possible time wins the game.

grammatical structure.

C. Modeling

Say:

What is the subject of the sentence?


What is the predicate?

Take note that our subject Grade VI pupils is plural in form, that’s why our predicate
listen is in plural form also. Plural subjects need plural verbs. Singular subjects, need
singular verbs.

Here are some examples of subject verb agreement (the subject is bolded and the verb underlined):
 We follow health protocols to keep us safe.
 Basketballs roll across the floor.
 They understand the assignment.
 Binalbagan celebrates its fiesta every 15th of May .
 Peter likes vegetables.

Why is there a need for us to follow health protocols?
