1) The document proposes an SMS-based moving dot matrix display project that would allow public information or advertisements to be sent via text message and scrolled across an electronic display board. 2) The hardware would include a PIC microcontroller, dot matrix display, GSM modem/mobile, shift register, and EEPROM memory. Messages received by the GSM modem would be processed by the PIC and displayed on the scrolling dot matrix screen. 3) Features would include displaying text messages, stock prices, and news updates. Security features would also filter undesired messages from anonymous numbers. The estimated cost is 35,000 Pakistani rupees and it would take 9-10 months to complete.

SMS BASED MOVING DOT MATRIX DISPLAY


DESCRIPTION:
Many people in the world are using wireless Short Message Service (SMS). Many applications with SMS have been created. Moving Text SMS is electronic display for show the public information example Happy Birthday message, Traffic Report, News, Forex. Generally Moving Text Display writes by computer, Infra Red, Radio. We implement the electronic display controlled by wireless SMS. In all GSM service area, the police or public can send message to display. They are a very exciting media for display. They are also very efficient for indoor and outdoor advertising. They are also used for generating more business in the market today. They are commonly found on the road side hotels and public places. This is a scrolling (moving) messaging electronic display board which displays the messages received as SMS. Such displays can be kept at different parts of the city and the public can send flash information from mobiles or PC's to these displays for instant viewing of news or advertisements. They can easily display information in bright. SMS based led display boards are commonly used for display of information. They are wireless and have a clear display. The sizes of the display board can be varied. Any message sent in English from a PC or mobile will be displayed in all the display boards installed in any part of the city. Various features of this system are: Scrolling or fixed messages English text only Single or multi line Simcard holder to plug in the simcard All features are remotely programmable using SMS from master or executive numbers 12 characters/message max 5 non volatile messages GSM based Multilingual Display are based on the concept on wireless network. These displays will connect to the mobile, transfer the relevant files which contain the messages and decode and transfer the messages to the displays.
