Name of Proponent(s):
I. Proposed Title
II. Introduction
This capstone project addresses the inefficiencies and security threats associated with
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa's (PLMun) existing manual student discipline
tracking system. The existing paper-based system has the flaws of data loss,
inaccuracy, slow processing, and susceptibility to unauthorized access. This project
makes use of information technology to come up with a more efficient and secure
alternative.
This project is under the field of mobile app development and database management,
particularly Android application development, secure database design, and QR code
implementation.
The particular issue is the insecure and inadequate student discipline tracking system
of PLMun. The situation is the pressing need for an updated, secure, and reliable
system in academic environments. The potential is in the use of mobile technology
and database management to enhance data accuracy, accessibility, and security while
simplifying the disciplinary process.
This project will develop a user-friendly, safe, and effective Android application for
handling student discipline within PLMun. This will enhance data management,
increase accountability, and support a safer and more efficient learning environment.
The relevance of the project lies in its capacity to become a model for other schools
with the same concerns.

III. Problem Statement
PLMun's manual, paper-based system for tracking student infractions has several
critical flaws. The use of manual entry by the system results in inconsistency and
inaccuracies in student information. The manual system increases the risk of
damage or loss of data, thereby leading to lateness in issuing disciplinary actions.
Furthermore, a lack of electronic secure system presents loopholes for potential
misuse of student identification number and subsequent discriminatory
punishment. The requirement of physically reporting violations also creates
inconvenience, resulting in wastage of time and disruption, particularly for
overburdened students. These issues have negative impacts on students, teachers,
and administrative staff, resulting in delays, inaccuracies, and potential legal
problems. The problem scope covers all phases of student violation management,
from recording to final disciplinary action. The impact consists of administrative
inefficiencies, risk of unfair disciplinary actions, enhanced risk of data loss, and
inconvenience to the students. A contemporary, digital approach is required to
solve the above limitations and enhance the efficiency and fairness of the student
disciplinary process overall and student experience as well.
For stakeholders, the benefits are substantial. Students will experience a fairer
and more transparent disciplinary process, reducing the risk of errors and
unjust penalties. Faculty will benefit from a streamlined reporting and
monitoring system, enabling quicker interventions. Administrative staff will
gain easier access to data analysis, report generation, and trend identification,
facilitating the development of more informed disciplinary policies. PLMun
as a whole will benefit from increased institutional efficiency, security, and
transparency, fostering a safer and more productive learning environment.
Rozy and Purnama (2022) introduced ViMoIS, a web-based Student Violation Point
Monitoring Information System designed to digitally record and track student
behavior in real time. Developed using the waterfall SDLC model, the system
addresses inefficiencies of manual recording by offering key features such as live chat
between teachers and parents, WhatsApp notifications for parental alerts, and a user-
friendly web interface for monitoring violations. By modernizing the recording
process, ViMoIS enhances communication between schools and parents, encourages
student compliance with school rules, and ensures a more secure and efficient method
for storing behavioral data.

[2] The Design and Development of Student Information and Violation
Management System (SIVMS)
Olipas, (2020) The study successfully designed and developed the Student
Information and Violation Management System (SIVMS) prototype to enhance the
guidance office's efficiency in managing student information and violations. By
addressing key organizational challenges, SIVMS effectively met system
requirements and provided a valuable solution for streamlining the recording and
handling of student data, ultimately improving the management and resolution of
student violations.
Livamianti, Saputra, Tasrif, and Mursyida (2024) highlight the effectiveness of the
SIMPONIS system in monitoring student violations, achieving real-time data
management that enhances accuracy and reduces delays. Its Early Warning Feature
allows timely intervention by teachers and parents, improving student behavior, while
enhanced communication through accessible reports fosters collaboration in
addressing discipline issues. By reducing the administrative burden on guidance
counselors, SIMPONIS enables them to focus on counseling rather than manual
record-keeping. Its success at SMA Negeri 1 Ranah Pesisir suggests potential for
broader application in other schools, and positive user feedback reinforces its usability
and effectiveness. Overall, SIMPONIS enhances efficiency, strengthens school-home
communication, and promotes a systematic and transparent approach to student
behavior monitoring.
Dasig Jr., Taduyo, Gatpandan, Guarin, and Gatpandan (2021) explored the application
of the CHAID algorithm to predict and classify student offenses in a higher education
institution, enhancing incident resolution, productivity, and efficiency at the Student
Development Office (SDO). The model, which classified offenses based on attributes
like category, date, college, and year level, achieved an 88% accuracy rate when
evaluated using a Confusion Matrix. Additionally, an Online Portfolio Management
System with a Recommender Module was developed to assist the SDO in managing
student discipline, leading to a significant reduction in major and minor offenses.
Overall, the study highlights the effectiveness of data mining techniques in improving
student discipline management and institutional efficiency.

[5] Information System of Student Point Violations (Case Study of Sma
Muhammadiyah 7 Serbelawan).
Arrafiq, Dewi, and Lubis (2023) examined the implementation of a Violation Point
System at SMA Muhammadiyah 7 Serbelawan, where teachers record student
infractions by noting details such as name, class, type of violation, and time of
occurrence. The severity of consequences, ranging from verbal warnings to expulsion,
depends on the accumulated points over a year. Utilizing an object-oriented
technology method, the system ensures a structured and systematic approach,
enabling efficient data management and facilitating counseling efforts. Overall, the
study highlights how a computerized and integrated system enhances the efficiency of
tracking student violations and improves the disciplinary process within the school.
Krisfianto, and Indahyanti (2024). This study successfully designed and developed a
web-based student violation management application integrated with real-time
WhatsApp notifications using the Extreme Programming (XP) method. This
application can improve efficiency in recording and monitoring student violations and
speed up communication between the school and parents. With features such as
violation recording, point calculation, sanction determination, and automatic
notification sending, this system facilitates schools in managing student violation data
more structured and accurately.
[9] Violation of digital and analog academic integrity through the eyes of faculty
members and students: Do institutional role and technology change ethical
perspectives?
Blau, Goldberg, Friedman, and Eshet-Alkalai (2021) examined differences in
perceptions of penalties for violations of academic integrity (VAI) between students
and faculty, revealing notable discrepancies. Students viewed reprimanding, financial,
academic, and accessibility-related penalties as more severe than faculty did, with
socio-demographic factors playing a role—ethnic minority and female students
perceived certain penalties, particularly reprimanding, as harsher. Interestingly, both
groups advocated stricter penalties for VAI in analog environments over digital ones,
despite recognizing digital offenses as serious. Faculty members generally perceived
VAI, including cheating, plagiarism, and fabrication, as more severe than students did
and favored harsher penalties. The study underscores the need for institutions to
address these perception gaps and consider socio-demographic influences to create
more effective policies for preventing and managing academic dishonesty.
