Strategic Proposal

Technological advancement in the healthcare has led to a tremendous shift towards an

integrated healthcare system. Effective team work, leadership as well as good communication is

essential to realize the success of adopting new technology in the healthcare system (Borkowski,

2016). Our organization mission is to provide the best healthcare to our patients and to ensure

that professionalism is natured all time. In line with our mission and the general trend in the

global world the organization has seen the importance of adopting Electronic Medical Record

(EMR). The use of this system will provide crucial information relating to an individual patient

as well as the effective management of the patient’s health records. Electronic Medical Record is

not a new system in our country and those who have managed to adopt it have realized a major

increase not only in profit, but also good reputation globally. (Taplin & Shortell, 2013)

To ensure effectiveness in the Adoption of EMR, the following individuals will work as a

team in the coordination, acquisition, implementation and ensuring that the project is accepted

not only by the employees, but the patients as well as all the stakeholders need to be on board.

(1) Dr.Marco Tartello, PhD (2) Dr. Virginia Pavini, MD (3) Dr. Jennifer Kline (4) Todd

Ramos and John Lierberman.

This team consist doctors and nurses from nearly all the departments within our organization.

This will ensure interpersonal and professional coordination in the within the team. Not

everybody can be involved in working as a team and before a team is set up, many issues are

considered including professionalism and experience. A team must have a goal to achieve that,

means only likeminded employees can embrace working as a team. Concerning the organization,

there are staff members who feel that the adoption of the use of Electronic Medical Record

system is a real threat and therefore they will opposed to the idea.

Dr. Marco Tartello- As the chief information officer, and the mastermind behind the adoption

of this project, will be in-charge of the whole project. He will ensure coordination of the team as

well as doing proper research on the project. There is therefore need to carefully consider

individual team members and their views regarding the project before settling on them. Careful

consideration has been giving to each department so that the final adoption may be accepted in

all the department of the organization

Dr. Virginia Pavini will be in charge of mobilization of financial resources as well as

employees to adopt the project. He will also be in charge of the follow up of the project after its

adoption.

Dr. Jennifer Kline will be in charge of testing and monitoring the system as well as training

others employees on its use. He will also be in charge of communicating the need and

importance of adopting the new system to the patients since he has a good reputation with the

clients.

Todd Ramos will be in charge of training the nursing department on the use of technology as

well as administering and monitoring the use of the system by the nurses.
