DEMOLISHING PROCEDURE.
Demolishing requires very careful and safe methods in order to make sure that persons
involved and other related parties are protected from any hazards. Therefore, a well-defined
procedure is necessary that will be strictly followed during the demolition work.
Conduct safety and technology disclosure and relevant technical disclosure for the foreman
and laborers and provide them with the necessary PPE.
Implement protection measures around the area to be hacked i.e., place warning ribbon below
the working space and precautionary warning signs will be erected and maintained to control
access in area during demolition.
The underneath of the slab on the Mezzanine floor is to be propped for additional support
during demolishing exercise.
Demolishing works will be carried using jack hammer and other associated machinery.
The provided drawings indicate the need to provide for the columns (450x350mm and
350x200mm) at the 11th floor, towers A and C as illustrated in the drawings attached.
CONSTRUCTION PROCEDURE
1. Sufficiently support the underneath of the slab panels adjacent to the slab panels to be
demolished.
2. Carefully demolish the concrete topping to expose the BRC-A-142 top mesh. Terminate it
at an appropriate length as indicated on the attached drawings.
3. Demolish the maxpans and expose the rib re-bars Terminate the rib rebars at an
appropriate length as indicated on the drawings
4. Introduce C-bars and weld them onto the existing bars and then provide a sufficient
concrete cover for the terminated bars.
5. The new and old concrete to be bonded using an approved bonding agent.
6. Wielding between new and old bars to be provided as per structural engineer instruction.
The equipment and material that may be involved in the demolition works are listed
below:
Debris from the demolition process will be taken away from the demolition site by dumpers
and disposed of site by solid waste management service provider.
