Course Code: PROF ED 108 Course Title: TECHNOLOGY FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING 1
Course Credit: 3 Units Contact Hours: Three (3) hours per week or 54 hours in a semester
Semester/SY: First Semester, School Year 2024 - 2025 Pre-requisite: None
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is a course required for all degree programs in teacher education. The contents closely approximate as provided by the CMO
which read as follows: An introductory course that explores basic knowledge, skills and values in the use of technology in various content
areas, learning theories and principles in the use and design of learning lessons, teaching-learning experiences and assessment tasks that
utilize and design appropriate traditional and innovative technologies with social, ethical and legal responsibilities.
COURSE OUTCOMES:
The course outcomes include the following:
• Explain ICT policies and safety issues as they impact on the teaching-learning process.
• Identify learning theories and principles applied in the design and development of lessons through appropriate media and technologies for teaching
and learning.
• Integrate media and technology in various content areas.
• Formulate teaching-learning experiences and assessment tasks using appropriate and innovative technologies.
• Demonstrate social, ethical and legal responsibility in the use of technology tools and resources.

The students who finished this course are expected to demonstrate knowledge in explaining ICT policies, and safety issues as they

impact on the teaching-learning process. Also, they are expected to identify learning theories and principle, integrate media and
technology in various content areas, formulating experiences in teaching-learning as well as assessment tasks with the use of
appropriate and innovative technologies.
PROGRAM INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Identify, explain, and internalize the vision, mission, core values of the institution. Discuss the teacher education program outcomes,
the degree outcomes and the course outcomes. Identify the competency standards of ICT for teaching and learning in pre-service
teacher education.
Explain some ICT policies and explain their implications to teaching and learning.
Integrate media and technology in various content areas.
Describe a flexible learning environment and the different platforms used for flexible learning.
Identify learning principles and theories that are applied in technology driven teaching-learning models.
Explain the use of ICT in assessment in learning.
Describe the community of learners as citizens who share and utilize digital materials.
