SPEAKING TOPICS

TOPIC 1: SHOPPING
Your shopping habits:
 How often: I’m not a shopaholic => I go shopping once a month
BUT I’m sometime shopping online to buy necessities of life (my goods and chattels.)
 Where: in DN city has a lot of big supermarkets BUT I would choose the one which near
me to save time and I like one – stop – shop => (LOTTE – shopping center)
 When: when I have free time like last month such as sat or Sunday => I will go to the
supermarket, shopping online is more flexible, I can buy any time I have free time
 What you shop: actually, I’m the window-shopping person =>I like to go around and watch
the design of products more than buy it => but if have to buy => maybe clothes, shoes,
study products or my goods and chattels, but I often buy them on e-commerce platforms
(shoppe, TikTok shop)
I would prefer shopping online more than shopping in physical stores BECAUSE
- It is more flexible
- Save time
- Have many items have knock – down - price
Advantages of online shops:
 Convenience:
You can shop anytime, anywhere, without having to leave your home.
It’s ideal for people with busy schedules or those who live in remote areas.
 Variety of Products:
Online stores often offer a wide range of products that may not be available in local stores.
It’s easier to compare different brands, models, and styles.
Customers can easily access the latest product
 Better Prices and Discounts:
Online retailers often offer competitive prices and frequent discounts or promotions.
You can easily compare prices across different websites to find the best deal.
It has many discounts code and now also has free ship code and fast delivery
Disadvantages of online shopping:
 Lack of Physical Inspection:
You can’t touch, try, or try on products before buying them.
This can be a problem with clothes, shoes, or items where size, texture, or color matters.
Delay times: have to wait for that product
Ways to make customers buy more:
Discounts and Promotional Offers
Attractive Store Layout and Visual Merchandising
Free Gifts and Samples
Have security measures to ensure customer protection
Gender differences in shopping
Woman: for emotional, relax, enjoyment => as a social activities => ex : go shopping not
just want to buy that but also want to experience and want to find something make they
happy and the women often is an impulse buy
Man: want to by purchase that they need and move quickly and who is serious shopper

Wild animals: Bengal tiger, polar bear
Protecting endangered animals:
1. Who Should Be Responsible:
 Governments: Make laws to protect animals and their homes.
 People: Help by spreading the word and supporting wildlife protection.
2. How to Protect:
 Make Strong Laws: Stop poaching and illegal hunting.
Illegal trading or hunting of wild animals is strictly prohibited

Propaganda to people about the importance of animals to the ecosystem
3. What to Do:
 Buy Smart: Choose products that don’t harm animals or their homes.
 Speak Up: Ask for better laws to protect animals.
Films:
 "The Last Lions" (2011)
 About: A documentary about a lioness and her cubs in Botswana, showing the harsh
realities of life for lions in the wild.
 Why it’s critical: It emphasizes the challenges lions face due to habitat loss, hunting, and
human-wildlife conflict.
Movie habit:
 I don’t like watching films, instead I watch reality shows, BECAUSE:
-True reflection of human life
- know more about the outside world.
-authenticity: Reality shows often reflect real life, emotions, and practical situations, making
you feel connected and relatable.
-High entertainment value: Reality shows are often engaging, humorous, or filled with
surprises, keeping you excited for new things.
-Learning skills and life experiences: Some reality shows, such as those about cooking,
survival, or creativity, provide practical and useful knowledge.

 Time Management
Challenge: Balancing school, homework, and personal life.
Solution: Use a planner or digital calendar, prioritize tasks, and break work into smaller
chunks.
 Stress and Anxiety
Challenge: Pressure from exams, deadlines, and expectations.
Solution: Practice relaxation techniques (deep breathing, meditation), get enough sleep, and
stay organized.
 Lack of Motivation
Challenge: Struggling to stay focused or interested in studies.
Solution: Set small goals, reward yourself for completing tasks, and find ways to make
learning more engaging.

TOPIC 3: MIGRATION
Now, I live in DN city, but before I go to university, I live in Gia Lai province
Like: If I didn't have to worry about my future, I would choose to live there because of three
following reasons
 Food: People grow it themselves in their gardens and rarely have to buy it from outside
 Cost of living: All service costs or commodity prices are low
 people: the hospitality and the love of people there which I hardly find in my current
place. Everyone is living close together and willing to give others a hand when they need help.
Dislike: Personally, it’s a bit boring for me…
 Gia Lai is a Defense area => less opportunity for job
 They mainly take care of the coffee trees there =>costs of salary low => not suitable for the
human needs
 There are no modern services to care for human health or education
Reason why people move:
 Job opportunity: There are many companies in the city => have many jobs opportunities
 Service: Infrastructure, care and education services in the city will be more modern and of
better quality
 There are many opportunities to participate in cultural, artistic, and entertainment activities
such as theaters, museums, or music events.
 This is also advantageous of big cities.
One the other hand
Disadvantages of living in big cities:
 high cost of living:
- Because of good infrastructure and high quality of modern services, the cost to pay is also high
- Everything must be bought and cannot be found in the garden like in the countryside
 noise and pollution
- Busy life and high population density make the atmosphere here noisy
- many factories and many vehicles => polluted air
-large amount of household waste => polluted environment
What makes a good place:
 Affordable cost of living for the people who live there
 There are enough machines and facilities for health care and safety
 There are enough schools and modern equipment for education
Places I would like to live
 I would love to live in my hometown which I am living
 The cost of living is suitable for me, my family lives here
 I feel I can get good jobs; there I can find a job that suits me without needing to be in a big
city
 I want to live near my parents to take care of them
