Installation process for JAMB TEST Software (Admin/Server)

NOTE:
A. Minimum server requirement:
1. Windows 10 above.
2. 64bit operating system architecture
3. 4GB RAM above.
B. Server must be running before process is started on client

STEP 1
Copy the Jamb test installation folder to your computer system

Ensure to have this number of file(s) appearing in the installation folder

1. Admin
2. Client
3. Requisite software
4. Jamb Test Manual

STEP 2
Open Admin folder and extract jamb test admin to local disk drive C:

NOTE: Ensure to move the extracted folder (jamb test admin) to drive C:
The jamb test admin folder contains the files below.

STEP 3
Open the requisite software folder and ensure you have this number of file(s) appearing in the
folder
Client requisite software
Server requisite software

NOTE: the server requisite software contains the file(s) below


1. Nodejs installation package for 64bit (64) Architecture v22.13.0
2. Mongodb v8

STEP 4
Install the Nodejs installation package by double clicking on the setup

STEP 5
Install the mongodb installation package by double clicking on the setup file

NOTE: install dotnet framework, if it’s not already installed on your machine.
STEP 6
Copy the RunJAMBtest_admin.exe file to desktop and double click on it to get a dialogue box
pop up on your screen

STEP 7
Click on the “Start Process” button

If step one(1) to five(5) is done correctly, a successful message pops up on your screen that
reads “Process Started”
Note: possible error messages if step one to five is not followed correctly

Solutions:
1. Ensure that the jamb test folder is on drive C:
2. Check the spelling of the naming of the jamb test admin folder in drive C:
3. Ensure that Nodejs is properly installed
4. Ensure that mongodb v8 is properly installed

STEP 8
1. Assign static Ip address to your server
2. Launch browser and type localhost:4000/admin on the address bar
3. Login using your centre reference number
STEP 9
On successful login, go to “Test” menu and create exam for any duration of your choice.

NOTE: only exam with at least 1 hour duration can be uploaded.

STEP 10
On successful conclusion of the test, “End test” on monitor active exam page and upload.

NOTE: if you wish to retake the test, the current test can be aborted to enable you create a
new test
Installation process for JAMB TEST Software (Client Side)

STEP 1
Copy the Jamb test installation folder to your computer system

Ensure to have this number of file(s) appearing in the installation folder

1. Admin
2. Client
3. Requisite software
4. Jamb Test Manual

STEP 2
Open Client folder and extract jamb test client to local disk drive C:

Note: Ensure to move the extracted folder (jamb test client) to drive C:

the jamb test client folder contains the following files


STEP 3
Install the Nodejs installation package by double clicking on the setup

NOTE: ensure to install the bit that matches with the system’s operating system Architecture.
E.g. 32bit(86) or 64bit(64).
Install dotnet framework, if it’s not already installed on your machine.

STEP 4
Copy the RunJAMBtest_client.exe file to desktop and double click on it to get a dialogue box
pop up on your screen

STEP 5
Click on the “Start Process” button

If step one(1) to three(3) is done correctly, a successful message pops up on your screen that
reads “Process Started”
Note: possible error messages if step one to three is not followed correctly

5. Ensure that the jamb test folder is on drive C:


6. Check the spelling of the naming of the folder in drive C:
7. Ensure that Nodejs is properly installed

STEP 6
On successful running of the process, open any browser on the system and type in the server ip
address colon 4000 e.g. 192.168.30.96:4000
You will see the page below on the browser if you failed to do the following:
“jamb test client” folder not copied to local disk drive C:
Nodejs not properly installed

RunJAMBtest_client process is not started.


STEP 7
If an examination has been successfully created, the system will automatically log in and the
application will be redirected to a waiting page.

STEP 8
Once the examination has been activated, the application will be redirected to an examination
simulation page where client will be automatically logged in.

NOTE: once centre capacity is reached, automatic login stops and provision is made for backup
computers to be registered.

On conclusion of the test for each client, the test will be submitted and the system information
page will be displayed.
