 To pass this assignment, you must have done everything listed below.
 Use the checklist before submitting your work.
 Tick off every item on this list before submitting your assignment.
 Your marker will consider how well you have done each of the following:

Submitted Files

You have produced all five items specified:

1. An essay entitled New Cutting Edge Advanced – An Evaluation

2. An authentic text. This must not be taken from an educational website.

3. Three teaching activities to exploit the text, together with aims, instructions and any materials
a teacher would need to use.

4. An essay entitled Using Authentic Materials and the Internet in the Language Classroom.

5. A bibliography listing all items referred to. (At least four references)

Part One
Evaluation of Cutting Edge Advanced

- The evaluation covers both of the areas specified in the rubric:


(i) Evaluate the book.
(ii) Say why you would or would not like to use this book.

- The evaluation is the required length (300 -500 words).


Part Two
Authentic Text and 3 Follow-up Activities

- The material selected is authentic, (NOT designed for language teaching), not sourced from an
educational website, properly referenced and appropriate for the class described: A mixed-
nationality class of 15 Advanced C1-C2 adults (9 women, 6 men, ages 20-40 years).

- If a listening text has been chosen, a link is provided and the script has been written out.

- You have highlighted 12 vocabulary items (words or phrases) which would be useful to pre-
teach

- Your activities include: A. A dictionary activity


B. An activity using online resources
C. Another follow-up activity of your own choice
- The 3 activities are clearly related to the text in some way.

- Aims, timing and instructions for teachers and all necessary materials have been included for
each activity.

activity.

- Each activity would achieve stated aim.
