RG302529
RG302529
The RG302529: Enhanced BCCH Energy Saving feature enhances the BSS20958:
Energy saving mode for BCCH TRX with additional dB transmit power reduction modes.
What is more, the RG302529 feature reduces electricity consumption even more in
cooperation with the BSS20958 feature.
The greatest energy savings are provided by the dummy burst power reduction during
periods of low traffic, for example at night time. With the dynamic power control of active
dedicated channels, the feature reduces electricity consumption throughout the day.
Impact on interfaces
The RG302529: Enhanced BCCH Energy Saving feature impacts interfaces as follows:
• Abis telecom
– Extended controlling functions of UTPFIL parameters.

Procedure
1 Modify the feature state of Enhanced BCCH Energy Saving from OFF to ON.
Step example
ZW7M:FEA= 29016:ON;
2 Activate Enhance BCCH Energy saving feature at BSC for the sector.
Step example
ZEUG:BTS=<BTS_ID>:TPR=<0-8>;
g Note: The values of TPR, currently, are 0 to 8. The value 0 indicates Energy saving
mode is off, and value 2-8 indicates that Energy saving feature is active with power
reduction of step of 2dB.
Procedure
1 Modify the feature state of Enhanced BCCH Energy Saving from ON to OFF.
Step example
ZW7M:FEA= 29016:OFF;
7.1.7.1 Purpose
The purpose of this test case is to verify Enhanced BCCH Energy Saving feature.
Upto 8 db (also 4 and 6 db) Reduction in BCCH TRX Power Level (So far only 2db
reduction allowed as part of BSS 20958).
Extending power reduction to TSL 7 (Presently applied only on 1-6).
• Windows OS Laptop
