Final Demo 2

The lesson plan for Grade 11 Practical Research focuses on sampling procedures and methods. Students will learn to identify and choose appropriate sampling methods, understand their importance, and apply this knowledge in their research. The lesson includes activities for recall, motivation, discussion, application, evaluation, and an assignment to draft the 'Participants' and 'Sampling Procedure' sections of their research.

Time

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Learning Competencies / Describes sampling procedure and sample.
MELCS
D. Objectives  Identify the different sampling method
 Choose the appropriate sampling method
 Recognize the importance of sampling method in the sampling process
II. CONTENT
Topic Sampling
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide N/A
2. Learner’s Material Practical Research 1 Quarter 2 Module 5
3. Textbook N/A
4. Additional Materials from
Learning Resource (LR)
portal
B. Other Learning Resources N/A
IV. PROCEDURE
Teacher’s Activity
A. Daily Routine Prayer
Greetings
Checking of Attendance
Checking of Assignment
B. Recall of Previous  Begin the lesson by recalling the difference of Population and Sample, and the
Lesson Steps in Sampling through playing “Red Light, Green Light” inspired from the
show Squid Games.
 The students will raise their green flag if the statement is True and raise their red
flag if it is False.

1. Population includes all individuals or items that fit a specific criterion. TRUE
2.Sample is larger than the population. FALSE
3.The results obtained from a sample can be used to make inferences about the
entire population. TRUE
4.There are 5 steps in sampling. TRUE

2. Motivation  Do a Quick Survey

 Ask a quick question (e.g., “Can you give an example of societal issues the youth
are facing?”)
 Select students randomly and record their answers on the board.
 Ask another question (e.g., “What do you think are ways we can help save our
environment?”), but this time only female students will answer.
 Discuss how their response represent a sample of the whole class and the first
set of sample are randomized, while the second is not.
3. Discussion  Differentiate Probability and Non-Probability Sampling
 Discuss the types of probability and non-probability sampling
 Show examples of each type to the class using shapes.
 Share examples in actual researches

4. Application  Discuss the different methods in sampling and select which is the most
appropriate for their research paper.
 Present their work to the class, and explain the rationale in choosing the
sampling method.
5. Generalization  Provide guide questions.
a. What are the kinds of probability sampling?
b. What are the kinds of non-probability sampling?
c. What is the importance of choosing the appropriate method in sampling?

 Give students prizes for answering

V. EVALUATION
Conduct an Exit ticket quiz by letting the students identify which sampling method
is being described in the statement.

1. Every 5th student on the list is selected. SYSTEMATIC

2.Entire sections in a Grade 5 are randomly chosen. CLUSTER
3.A patient refers others with the same condition. SNOWBALL
4.Students in the library are surveyed. CONVENIENCE
5.10 students are randomly picked from the class SIMPLE RANDOM

IV. ASSIGNMENT
 The groups will write a draft of the “Participants” and “Sampling Procedure”
section of their research, and present it to the class next meeting.
