Executive Summary

Tourism is a major part of the service industry. Since the past two
decades there has been enormous growth in the travel industry. The
project highlights the scope of tourism in India and the need for growth
and development in the tourism sector.
Many countries have realized the importance of the tourism sector and
they are promoting tourism on a large scale.
Development of the tourism sector results in an increase in employment
and also helps to improve the economy of the country. Tourists from
other nations are willing to visit India and spend their valuable foreign
currency.
Major types and forms of tourism have been discussed that can be can be
considered by travel companies to be promoted. Recent developments in
the tourism sector have also been discussed.
The project brings out opportunities for new travel agencies and
companies. A case of a new company called Veena World is given in the
project. The company was established in May 2013 and had achieved
much in its first year. The competition of the company with much more
experienced companies has also been elaborated.
