Baseband GPS Connectivity Robust GNSS active antenna
(Comba)
KRE 101 2395/2
The RF feeder cable and the RF jumper cable connect the GNSS W/H/D (including Bracket)
active antenna with the GNSS receiver unit. The RF feeder cable is 89mm/131mm/77mm
supplied uncut on cable drums. Each feeder cable is cut to length on-
Surge Arrester
site and N-type connectors are fitted to both ends. 1/2-inch RF NGC 901 45
feeder cables can be up to 100 meters long and 1/4-inch RF feeder 1/4" RF Cable – FAB 102 1639/01
cables up to 50 meters. 1/2" RF Cable – FAB 102 1044/04

RF Jumper Cable
RF jumper cables are installed to not cause stress on the SMA TSR 951 345/1
connector on the GNSS receiver unit. RF jumper cables are used to Surge Arrester – Splitter
connect power dividers, GNSS active splitters, GNSS receiver units,
and surge arresters. GPS Splitter 1x4

Baseband Radio Mixed-Mode Support
Baseband 6631 or Baseband 6651 only support Node Group Sync feature for radio mixed-mode synchronisation
• One Node has to be configured with sync priority of 1, normally this should be the LTE node. If the LTE node is not in the node group with radio
mixed-mode then the next highest node type in the table below should have the priority set to 1
• Preferred selection Mode is 2 (REFERENCE_AND_NODE_PRIORITY) so the node with the best quality sync source will be the sync provider. If a
DUG is in the node group this mode is not supported and the selection mode should be 1 (NODE_PRIORITY).
• NR TDD Baseband node must have the highest Priority (1) when in Radio Mixed mode with Node Group Sync
• The syncRiPortCandidate should only reference Baseband RiPorts that are connected to shared radios (FieldReplaceableUnit :
isSharedWithExternalMe set to TRUE). Adding non shared radios or RiPorts not connected to any radio will impact Node restarts adding a 5-
6min delay to the Baseband restart.
• If a DUW is in Radio mixed-mode with any other node type, the DUW CPRI link must be connected to DATA_1 of the radio.
• Radio 4466 or radios with 4 CPRI ports require specific rilink mapping when in Radio Mixed-Mode, see associated CPRI slide
Sync Node Priority

(1 – 15)

Baseband (LTE/UMTS/GSM) 3
Baseband (2nd LTE) 5
DUW - UMTS only (2100) 7

• VFS1LDCA
• SX for sector number
• L for Lowband,
• DC for DC cable,
• DCA– which of the sector’s DC cables.

RF Tails labelling RF Tails Labelling
Lowband RRU
As we can only have 2Tx for all lowband technologies , and in the case of the 2460 RRU
with separate TX for the 700Mhz system vs combined Tx for the 800Mhz & 900Mhz
systems, whereas for the 2238 RRU all lowband frequencies are combined and
transmit/receive over same 2no. RF ports, the RF labelling has to be able to reflect both
deployment scenarios
• 2T/4R RRU variants (sector1 example)
• 800/900Mhz (RRU RF port -> Antenna RF port)
• VF89S1+ (A -> R1+)
• VF89S1- (B -> R1-)
• 700Mhz TX ports
• VF7S1+ (C -> R2+)
• VF7S1- (D -> R2-)
• 2T/2R RRU variants
• 700/800/900 Mhz
• VF789S1+ (A -> R1+)
• VF789S1- (B -> R1-)
Midband RRU
As we now have two variants of Midband RRUs , with and without 2600Mhz capability,
plus we could have a mixture of 2T/4R and 4T/4R for the different frequencies, the
Midband RRU labelling is being updated so that all deployment scenarios can be captured
by the same labelling convention
• 2T/4R plus 4T/4R configuration deployments (sector1 example)
• 1800/2100Mhz (2600Mhz) (RRU RF port -> Antenna RF port)
• VFS1Y1+ (A -> Y1+)
• VFS1Y1- (B -> Y1-)
• VFS1Y2+ (C -> Y2+)
• VFS1Y2- (D -> Y2-)
