to access your information anywhere and anytime
regardless of the device you use?
1st Response
2nd Response
Answer: Cloud Storage
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson students should
be able to:
1. define the terms cloud storage and cloud
computing following engagement activity.
2. identify at least 3 cloud computing service
providers without the use of their textbooks.
3. explain the purpose of cloud computing with
98% accuracy after PowerPoint
Presentation.
4. describe the impact of cloud computing on
storage after class discussion
WHAT IS CLOUD
STORAGE?
Cloud storage is a way for business and
consumers to save data securely online so it can
be accessed anytime from any location and easily
shared with those who are granted permission.
Cloud storage also offers a way to back up data
to facilitate recovery.
WHAT IS CLOUD COMPUTING?
Cloud Computing is the practice of using a
network of remote servers hosted on the
internet to store, manage, and process data,
rather than a local server or a personal
computer.

Examples of cloud accounts:
1. One Dive (5GB)
2. Google Drive (15GB)
3. iCloud (5GB)
4. Drop Box (2 GB)
PURPOSES OF CLOUD COMPUTING
1. To reduce Cost: Purchasing
physical storage can be expensive.
Without the need for hardware
cloud storage is exceptionally
cheaper per GB than using external
drives.
2. Provides Ease of Accessibility:
Using the cloud for storage gives
you access to your files from
anywhere that has an internet
connection.
PURPOSES OF CLOUD
COMPUTING
3. Assist in recovery: In the event of a hard drive
failure or other hardware malfunction, you can
access your files on the cloud. It acts as a backup
solution for your local storage on physical drives.
4. Allow for Syncing and Updating: When you
are working with cloud storage, every time you
make changes to a file it will be synced and
updated across all of your devices that you access
the cloud from.
PURPOSES OF CLOUD
COMPUTING
•5. Provide Security: Cloud storage providers add
additional layers of security to their services. Since there
are many people with files stored on the cloud, these
providers go to added lengths to make sure your files don't
get accessed by someone who shouldn't.
