Story
Jean Valjean’s Struggle for
Redemption
Jean Valjean, a former prisoner, is released on parole after 19 years
for stealing a loaf of bread.

Society rejects him because of his criminal past, making it impossible


for him to find honest work.

Javert’s Obsession with Justice
He makes it his life’s mission to track down Valjean and bring him
back to prison.

Javert represents the law, while Valjean represents redemption and


moral struggle.

Fantine’s Tragic Fate
Fantine, a struggling mother, works in Valjean’s factory but is fired
when her coworkers discover she has an illegitimate daughter,
Cosette.

Valjean saves Marius’ life by carrying him through the sewers after
the battle.
Javert catches Valjean but, conflicted by his sense of justice, lets him
go.
Unable to handle the moral conflict of showing mercy, Javert took
his own life.
Love, Redemption, and Farewell
Marius and Cosette reunite and prepare for their wedding.

Valjean, now old and weak, reveals his true past to Marius before
peacefully passing away.

In the final scene, Valjean’s soul joins those who died in the
revolution, singing a message of hope and redemption.
