Firstly, I want to inform you about CS-23. CS-23 stands for Certification
Specifications for Small Aeroplanes, which is a set of regulations
published by the EASA. These specifications define the safety standards
and technical requirements for the design, certification, and operation of
small aircraft. We can give Tecnam P2010 and elixir 4th generation as an
example for small aeroplanes.

SLİDE 4

CS 23.1529 is a part of the EASA CS-23 Standard and specifies the

requirements for the preparation of ICA to ensure the ongoing
airworthiness. Aircraft manufacturers or design holders are required to
develop and publish these documents to ensure the safe and efficient
operation and maintenance of the aircraft over its service life.

SLİIDE 5

First documentation is AMM. It includes all the systems, structural

components and maintenance procedures of the aircraft. For an example
of AMM’s content, ‘hydraulic system maintenance procedures’ or
‘replacement interval and procedure for fuel system’.

Second documentation is CMM. It includes maintenance procedures for

specific aircraft components such as engine or landing gear. For an
example of CMM’s content,we can say ‘Engine oil change interval’ or
‘Inspection procedures for landing gear shock absorber’

SLIDE 6

Third documentation is SRM. It contains detailed procedures and

guidelines for repairing structural components of aircraft. For an example
of SRM’s, we can say ‘Repairing minor cracks on the wing surface’ or
‘Repairing holes or damage in composite surfaces’.

SLIDE 7

Fourth documentation is MRBR . The MRBR provides a structured

maintenance program that includes scheduled inspections, servicing, and
system checks to ensure continued airworthiness and operational
reliability of the aircraft. For an example of MRBR we can say ‘Routine
Maintenance inspections such as A-Check , D-Check’ or ‘lubrication task
for flight control system’

Fifth documentation is TSM. It contains systematic procedures for

diagnosing and resolving issues or faults. Let’s say we have a situation for
an Airbus A320.
We know issue which is ‘left engine fail to start’. And our diagnosis is ‘Fuel
control unit malfunction detected’. After this two step we can say
corrective action by looking at TSM which is ‘Check fuel system for
blockages, perform electronic control unit reset, verify engine ignition
sequence’

SLIDE 8

Sixth documentation is WDM. It contains detailed electrical system

diagrams and maintenance procedures. We can say ‘power supply circuits
for cockpit displays’ or ‘Test procedures related to short circuit and
connection problems’ as an example for WDM’s content.

Seventh documentation is MEL.MEL specifies whether the aircraft can

continue operation if certain systems fail and ensures that even if certain
components are not functioning, the aircraft can still be flown without
compromising safety. We can understand the answer of ‘Can the aircraft
continue flying if a backup generator is inoperative?’ by looking at MEL.

SLIDE 9

Eigth documentation is SB. SB is a document issued by an aircraft

manufacturer, engine manufacturer, or component supplier to inform
aircraft operators about recommended modifications or maintenance
actions. We can say ‘A technical notice recommending a new part to
prevent excessive wear on the landing gear’ or ‘A bulletin notifying of a
manufacturing defect in the fuel pump that requires replacement’ as an
example of SB’s content.

Nineth documentation is IPC. IPC contains comprehensive information

about the parts and assemblies used in an aircraft or other aerospace
equipment. It is essential for maintenance, repair, and inventory
management. We can say ‘A diagram showing the layout of the aircraft’s
landing gear system, with numbered components and part numbers’ as an
example of IPC’s content.

SLIDE 10

Tenth documentation is TM. TM provides details about special tools needed

for specific tasks, including how to use and maintain them. TM gives us
information about tools like in this example.

Eleventh documentation is WBM. WBM contains the procedures and

guidelines for determining the weight distribution and balance of an
aircraft to ensure safe flight. We can learn empty weight, Maximum Takeoff
weight, CG from this manuals.
SLIDE 11

Twelfth documentation is CDCCL. CDCCL Ensures that any changes made

to an aircraft during maintenance, repairs, or modifications do not
negatively impact the safety, stability, or performance of the aircraft.

Thirteenth documentation is CPCP. CPCP manage the prevention,

detection, and mitigation of corrosion on an aircraft, ensuring its structural
integrity and safety over its lifespan.
