Paraphrasing Done RIGHT!
Paraphrasing is rewriting a passage and
changing the meaning of the original text.

• Read the passage several times to fully

understand the meaning
• Note key concepts
• Write your version of the text without looking at
the original to avoid copying
• Compare your paraphrased text with the original
passage; make minor adjustments to phrases
that remain too similar
• Cite the source where you found the idea and
who was the original author

AI and Plagiarism
With the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI), our school
understands its popularity, ease of use, and accessibility. However,
using AI tools or writing software to complete your assignments is
limited.

Although the tools seem helpful, they can lead to plagiarism when
you copy from the source and then present them as your own.
Remember: AI performs different types of plagiarism; you are
responsible for checking validity and using the AI plagiarism checkers.

Teachers utilize AI plagiarism checkers to review student work to

verify student work authenticity and support our institution's vision
of academic integrity. If a student's work shows over 30% from the
detector, it will be addressed by the teacher using our implemented
policy. Click here to review our plagiarism policy for more details.

Translators use AI and machine learning. However, translators are

prohibited as they do not provide original work.

If you need additional information or are unsure about this topic,

please reach out to your teacher for more feedback to make sure you
follow our institution's plagiarism policy.
