2. Assessment Brief

This module is assessed through one graded element. You must achieve at least 50% to pass this
module.

By completing this assessment, you will the following learning outcomes (LOs):

• LO4: Critically reflect on the mechanisms required to build teams and influence networks
in complex and interconnected digital organisations.

Assessment Scenario

For this assignment, you will be acting as the new “Senior Digital Transformation Consultant”
for a large organisation of your choice. As part of your new role, your line manager who is the
Chief Information Officer (CIO) has tasked you to produce a “Digital Transformation Report''
designed to evaluate and recommend changes that the organisation must implement by
means to retain its competitiveness in a market vastly influenced by technology. This is your
opportunity to demonstrate your capability and give your employer the confidence to let you
run your own project in the future.

Task 1: Internal Process Analysis (20%; LO1)

Critique and review key areas of the organisation that are being impacted through digital
disruption. Your analysis should also provide clear digital transformation objectives that must
be achieved in the next 5 years.

Task 2: Implement Digital Agility (30%; LO2)

Evaluate and propose 3 disruptive technologies that your chosen organisation can use to
detect changes, make informed decisions, and quickly adapt to market demands.

Tips: Use the Digital Business Agility Model (i.e., hyperawareness, make informed decisions
and execute fast) as a blueprint for your Task 2 – see the diagram below. Some key emerging
technologies to consider are Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence &
Machine Learning, Extended Reality etc.

Task 3: Develop a Digital Culture (20%; LO3)

By leveraging on the features of a digital-ready culture identified by Think with Google (2017),
advise your chosen organisation on how a digital-ready culture can be instilled in order to
support its digital transformation. Specifically, for this task, you need to advise on how your
organisation can create a digital-ready culture by:

1. Putting customers first


2. Creating a collaborative culture
3. Instilling a culture of innovation
4. Becoming a digital champion
