(Students react with “Ooooohh!” sounds.)

HOST 1:
"At syempre, ang ating pinaka-maunawain at mabait na guro, si Teacher Belen!"

(Judge 2, Teacher Belen, waves sweetly and smiles at the contestants.)

TEACHER BELEN:

4. TEACHING SHOWDOWN ROUND

HOST 1:
"Ngayon naman, narito na ang pinaka-aabangang bahagi ng ating kompetisyon—ang TEACHING SHOWDOWN
ROUND!"

HOST 2:
"Dito natin makikita kung paano ipapamalas ng ating mga maestras ang kanilang kakaibang galing at estilo sa
pagtuturo—inspired mismo sa kwento ng The Kindergarten Teacher!"

Contestant 1 - The Storytelling Diva

(Contestant picks up a chalk/marker and starts drawing on the board in an exaggerated, telenovela-style voice.)

CONTESTANT:
"Mga anak, tingnan ninyo! Ano ito?" (Draws a tortoise on the board.)

STUDENTS 1 & 2 (in unison): "Si Master Tortoise!"

(Adds a walking stick to the drawing.)

CONTESTANT:
"Aba! May hawak siyang tungkod! At ano ito?" (Adds another detail.)

STUDENTS 2: "Naninigarilyo siya ng pipe!"

CONTESTANT:
"O siya, ngayon hulaan ninyo… Sino ang kanyang makakasalubong?" (Starts drawing again on the other side of the
board.)

STUDENTS 1 & 2: "Si Master Rabbit!"

(Contestant nods, then places a hand on their chest like a dramatic narrator.)

CONTESTANT:
"At dito nagsimula ang kanilang kwento. Isang araw, nagkita si Master Tortoise at si Master Rabbit... Ano kaya ang
nangyari?"

"Hulaan ninyo, sino ang nanalo sa kanilang karera?!"

(STUDENT 1 and STUDENT 2 enthusiastically shout their answers!)

(Contestant smiles and continues the story while adding playful reactions, making the scene interactive and engaging!)

Contestant 2 - The Drama Queen of the Classroom

(Acts out a crying child STUDENT 3 while pretending to be the teacher comforting them.)

CONTESTANT:
"Oh no! May umiiyak! Ano kayang gagawin natin, mga bata?" (Looks at the class with a playful smile.)

(Students look at each other, unsure. Contestant suddenly claps hands together.)

CONTESTANT:
"Alam ko na! Tulungan natin siya para hindi siya mag-isa! Sige nga, sabay-sabay tayong umiyak para maubos na ang
lungkot!"

(Students and audience pretend to cry loudly together—some even exaggerate for fun!)
CONTESTANT:
(Pauses and looks at the "crying student") "Oh, tingnan mo! Tapos na ang iyakan! Kita mo? Hindi ka nag-iisa. Ngayon,
hingang malalim..." (Breathes in deeply, encouraging the class to do the same.) "At punasan ang luha... Ngiti na tayo!"

(The "crying" student starts smiling, and the audience laughs and joins in!)

CONTESTANT:
"Ayan! No more crying, only learning! Ready na ba kayong matuto?"

(Students cheer and get excited for the next lesson!)

Contestant 3 - The Writing Expert

(Teaches writing using the “Plum Game” from the story!)

CONTESTANT:
"Okay, class! Ngayon, magtitinda tayo ng plums! Pero tandaan, only the sweetest, roundest plums will be accepted!"

(Draws a round plum on the board, using a clockwise motion.)

"Ganito ang tamang pagguhit—paikutin ang kamay clockwise... chug-chug-chug-chug!"

(Then, draws a wobbly one counterclockwise.)

"Pero itong isa... ay! Mukhang bulok! Hindi ko ito bibilhin!"

(Students react as she pretends to throw plums to them. Some act like they are eating sweet ones, others pretend to taste
a sour or rotten one and make faces.)

"Ngayon, kayo naman! Guhit tayo ng limang matamis na plum, at tingnan natin kung sino ang makakakuha ng marka!"

(Students start drawing while Ma’am Shakira checks their work, giving playful feedback.)

(pointing at student 3)

MA’AM SHAKIRA: "Ay, bawal ang bulok! Ulitin mo nang tama para matamis!"

(Ends with encouragement, especially for the shy student, similar to the story.)
"Aba, kahit mahilig kang umiyak, ang plum mo ay ang pinakamatamis! Ang galing mo!"

Contestant 4 - The Emotion Coach

(Encourages audience members to express their feelings in a fun way! – Emotional Awareness) (Contestant stands in
front of the class, holding up a large "Feelings Chart" with different emotions—happy, sad, excited, nervous, etc.)

CONTESTANT:
"Bago tayo magsimula, alamin muna natin kung ano ang nararamdaman ng bawat isa! Sino dito ang happy?" (Points to
the "happy" face and encourages students to raise their hands.)

"Sino naman ang sad?" (Looks around with concern, acting sympathetic to any students who pretend to be sad.)

"Eh sino ang excited?" (Jumps excitedly, making the class laugh and join in!)

(Encourages the audience and students to point at their feelings on the chart.)

CONTESTANT:
"Tandaan, lahat ng emosyon ay valid! Kung malungkot ka, okay lang, nandito kami para sa’yo! Kung masaya ka, ishare
mo ang saya sa iba! Ngayon, handa na ba kayong matuto nang may ngiti?"

(Students and audience cheer, getting energized for the next lesson!)

Contestant 5 - The Singing & Dancing Teacher

(Contestant claps energetically and steps forward with a big smile.)

CONTESTANT:
"Okay, class! Gamitin natin ang katawan para matuto! Ang pagsusulat ay parang pagsasayaw—may ritmo, may galaw!"

(Starts swaying and moving hands in the air as if writing in rhythm.)

CONTESTANT:
"Subukan natin! Isulat ang bilog na plum habang sumasabay sa galaw!" (Demonstrates drawing a round shape in the air
while stepping side to side.)

(Turns to the audience) "Sabay-sabay tayo! Chug-chug-chug! Ikot sa kanan, ikot sa kaliwa! O diba, parang sayaw lang?"

(Students and audience follow along, moving their hands and bodies while laughing!)

CONTESTANT:
"Ayan! Natuto na tayo habang sumasayaw! Sino dito ang gustong matuto ng ganitong saya araw-araw?"

(Students cheer and clap, energized for more learning!)

5. Q&A ROUND: “TANONG NG BAYAN” (LOWKEY SEGUE INCLUDING ANSWERS IN 6, 7, 8, 10, 11)

• Contestant 1 Ma’am Britney: "Ang pagiging creative and inspiring!" It’s important that children enjoy school;
they must love coming to school, not fear it. It’s the most important step. (GO STORYTELL!!!)

That I am here,
that we! are here. And I’ll say “Come, let’s all share our tears so no one feels alone.” AND “Even the
sweetest fruit starts out sour, just like learning-it takes time.” (DELIVER LINES HABANG NAGW-WALLING
DRAMA QUEEN!!!)

• Contestant 5 Ma’am Melody: "Dapat may sayaw-sayaw at kanta! Lahat mas masaya pag may rhythm!"
(DELIVER LINES NANG PAKANTA AND SUMASAYAW, SINGING DANCING TEACHER!!!)

• Contestant 4 Ma’am Lucy: Siguro, the lesson will be The Helping Hands through The Kindness Tree. In this
Activity, Each child will receive a paper strip or leaf-shaped cutout where they will write or draw one kind thing
they did that day, like sharing, helping a friend, or saying "thank you." These will be linked together to form a
Kindness Chain or added to a Kindness Tree displayed in the classroom. As the days go by, the tree will grow,
showing how small acts of kindness create a big impact. This activity teaches children the importance of helping
others and fosters a positive and caring classroom environment. That would be all, I Thank You! (Full of Emotions
pls!!!, our Emotion Coach)

Q5 (judge 1): Huling katanungan, what kind of a professional would you like to be based on your reflections
from our influential co-teacher who narrated the Kindergarten story?

• Contestant 3 Ma’am Shakira: Inspired by The Kindergarten Teacher, we aspire to be teacher-architects who
design spaces that nurture learning, creativity, and well-being—just as U Nyan Sein created a welcoming
environment for his students. We believe that architecture, like teaching, should be built on empathy,
understanding, and inclusivity, ensuring that every space supports growth, inspires curiosity, and fosters a sense
of belonging. Just as great teachers shape young minds, we aim to shape communities by creating safe,
innovative, and accessible spaces that empower individuals, especially those in need, to learn, thrive, and
succeed.

(Music plays, final bow, and end of show!)

INCLUDES THE ANSWERS FROM THE ACTIVITY – Every key lesson is included.
CONTESTANTS APPLY TEACHING TECHNIQUES FROM THE STORY – Bringing U Nyan Sein’s philosophy to life!

END NARRATION: (answering Q1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9)

Our presentation was inspired by The Kindergarten Teacher, a story told from the perspective of a university lecturer who
once taught middle school. During a visit to his hometown, he observed his friend, U Nyan Sein, a kindergarten teacher,
whose creative teaching methods changed his view on what it means to be a good teacher.

Through descriptive narration and dialogue, the story becomes more engaging, using observation-based storytelling
where the narrator watches and reflects rather than simply stating facts. At first, he thought he was a good teacher, but
after seeing U Nyan Sein’s patience and creativity, he felt humbled and realized that true teaching is not just about sharing
knowledge but about making learning enjoyable and meaningful.

If told from a different perspective, the focus would change. From the kindergarten teacher’s view, it would highlight his
teaching philosophy and struggles. From a student’s point of view, it would capture the excitement of learning. From the
crying child’s perspective, it would show the journey of overcoming fear and adjusting to school.

In the end, The Kindergarten Teacher teaches us that education is more than lessons—it is about creating an environment
where students feel inspired, supported, and eager to learn.
