Understanding The Role Of Mobile Phone Use In The Academic Performance Of Senior
High School Students
In today's digital age, mobile phone has become an essential part of students daily lives,
serving as tools for communication, information access, and entertainment. With the increasing
affordability and accessibility of smartphones, senior high school students rely on these devices
not only for personal use but also for academic activities (Williams & Carter, 2020). The
integration of mobile phones into education has facilitated new learning opportunities, allowing
students to access online resources, collaborate in virtual classroom, and utilize educational
application (Thomsons & Garcia, 2021). However, the growing dependence on mobile phones
raises concerns regarding thier potential effects on students academic performance, particularly
when usage is unregulated or excessive. While mobile phones offer various academic
advantages, they also pose significant challenges, especially in terms of time managements and
focus. According to Lee & Johnson (2022), exessive mobile phones use among students often
results in reduce study hours, increased procrastinations, and lower academic achivements. This
