IIT Madras School Connect Program


Hands on Career Experience Programs
for Class XI & Class XII Students

A. Introduction:
IIT Madras has launched short 8-week programs across various disciplines to introduce
students to diverse fields of study. These programs will offer a unique opportunity for your
students to explore different career paths and gain practical insights into their future
academic journeys.

Currently, 8-week certification courses will be offered in the following exciting topics:

 Introduction to Data Science and AI (Rs. 500/-)


 Introduction to Electronic Systems (Rs. 500/-)
 Introduction to Architecture and Design (Rs. 500/-)

Students should apply to only one of the courses offered, at a time.

B. Eligibility:
The eligibility criteria for the certification courses are:

Course Eligibility

Intro to Data Science and AI Any stream in Class XI & class XII

Intro to Electronic systems Studying Maths & Physics in Class XI & Class XII

Intro to Architecture and Design Any stream in Class XI & class XII

C. Program details:
 Recorded lecture videos will be released every Monday; the content will be for a
duration of 1 hour, which students can watch any time throughout the week
 Live interactive sessions on Saturdays at 5pm IST
 Online assignments - Total 4 assignments - once in 2 weeks with 2 weeks timeline for
submission.
 8 weeks of this schedule will be administered from April 07, 2025.
D. Mode of delivery
 The learning content will be provided weekly as pre-recorded videos. As these are
recorded videos, students can watch anytime, anywhere.
 Access to the learning content will be given to the registered email id.
 Assignments can be solved and submitted online, within the prescribed deadlines

F. Requirements from the student side:


The student will require:
 A laptop/desktop computer
 Stable Internet connection
 Dedication and motivation to learn

Students should apply to only one of the courses offered, at a time.

H. Role of the School - partner with IIT Madras

THIS IS A NON-COMMERCIAL PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE SCHOOL & IIT MADRAS


CODE. However, the students who wish to register for the courses will have to pay Rs.
500/- per course.

We request the schools to:


 Partner with IIT Madras - Submit the Expression of interest form to partner with IIT
Madras & complete the partnership formalities.

 Nominate a passionate teacher as the single point of contact (SPOC).
 Create awareness about the initiatives to all students, teachers, and parents
 Students to Register for the 8-week certification courses: (after becoming partner, we
will share registration link)
o Encourage all Class XI & Class XII students to register for at least one of the
certification courses
o Payment - Schools may collect the ₹500 fee for the certification course from
interested students and remit the collected fee in bulk to IIT Madras OR
students may directly pay the fees online while registering for the course
IIT Madras will provide all the details of the students’ progress on a weekly basis to the SPOC
nominated by the school.
