GDrive Folder Upload Trigger
This automation lets you create new CIDs (content) in the Airtable system by uploading a
Start Here folder (containing media) to a specific GDrive folder. This lets you bypass the typical
planning process in the content workflow section in the Airtable database.
Installation (Core)
Use Case #1: You produce content on the fly (say on a cellphone) and it's not planned. You

want to skip the typical planning process and just upload the content and have the system
create the Airtable row (and folders) in the proper status (automatically).
Managing The System
Use Case #2: You're a content agency and want to provide a place where clients can upload
content to be produced. You want to skip the typical planning process and let your clients

upload the content and have the system create the Airtable row (and folder) and drop the
content into the proper status (automatically).

Note for Content Agencies: Each of your clients will need a separate folder and associated
Installation (Extras) Zap to ensure they can't see each other's content. If you used a shared folder/zap there
would be a short time when your clients could see each other's content (which they may not

Q & A

Actions:

Personal Brands → Setup a "Folder Inbox" inside your Kontent Engine Root Folder as
connect the Zap automation to that folder.

Content Agency → Create a "Folder Inbox" inside your KEDB Root Folder and then Client
Inbox Folders inside that e.g. "Brand X Inbox". You will need 1 Zap per Client Inbox,
connect the "Brand X Inbox" to the Zap (not the general Folder Inbox folder).

How To Trigger Zapier and Upload Your New Folder

Create a folder locally (on your phone or desktop)

Add all the files/media to the folder (on your phone or desktop)

Upload the new folder from your phone or desktop to the inbox

The uploaded folder will become the Original Assets folder inside the new record in
Airtable / GDrive

Technically you can add the media/files AFTER you upload the folder (and trigger the
Zap) because the system processes the folder itself, NOT the files. So if you upload an
empty folder, the system will still process it and create the Airtable row. If you upload the
files later they would still show up in the folder that is now associated with the Airtable
CID.

Step #2

Note:

You may also want to set the "Production Workflow" column in the new Airtable row to
"Edit" (or something else) so that it's already in the proper status in the workflow.

Step #3

Note:

The folder structure we create here is the same as the planned content in the airtable
system.

Step #4

Note:

Instead of creating an "Original Assets" folder we simply re-use the folder already
uploaded to GDrive as the "Original Assets" folder. All we do is just move it into the folder
we created above.

Step #5

Step #6

Note:

Notice we do create a document for the "Copy" or description of the content for
publication. But we skip the step to generate a script because we're already uploading
the recorded content. If scripting was done it happened already.
