Answer the following. Write your answers in the space provided after each item.

1. Explain the purpose and importance of language policy.

Language policy is very important because it helps people learn major

national languages while also preserving smaller languages. It ensures
that minority populations have access to literacy and education, giving
them better job opportunities. It also allows multiple languages to
coexist, so no culture is lost.

2. In your understanding, translate the major goals of language

policies.

The goal is to preserve and strengthen old languages while also

helping people learn English and other major world languages. Both
national and state governments work together to protect local
languages so that they are not forgotten. Additionally, language
policies provide people with the skills to communicate in multiple
languages for future opportunities.

3. Identify the old languages used by people before.

Many ancient languages were used in the past. Some of them include
Tamil, Sanskrit, Egyptian, Hebrew, Greek, Basque, Lithuanian, Farsi,
Irish Gaelic, Icelandic, Chinese, and Arabic. Some of these languages
are still spoken today, while others are less commonly used. However,
they all remain historically and culturally significant .
