Project Synopsis
Footstep Energy Generation using Piezoelectric Sensors
This project harnesses sustainable energy from footstep pressure using piezoelectric
modules, transforming human motion into usable electricity. The piezoelectric modules
generate an initial 5V output, which is stored in a 4V battery. To reach the required voltage
for practical applications, a voltage booster elevates this to 12V. The stored energy is then
converted from DC to AC using a DC-to-AC circuit, allowing it to power an AC device, such
as a light bulb, through a simple switch mechanism.

Description and Advantages

The system showcases innovative renewable energy applications, particularly in areas with
high foot traffic. By converting mechanical energy from footsteps into electrical energy, this
project supports eco-friendly energy generation and promotes reduced reliance on
conventional power sources. The use of a voltage booster optimizes the energy for practical
use, while the DC-to-AC conversion expands compatibility with standard electrical devices.
Such a system can be integrated into public spaces, providing reliable, low-cost illumination
in walkways or buildings, and could influence the development of smart city infrastructure
through sustainable power solutions.

Hardware Components
 Piezoelectric Modules: Convert mechanical pressure to electric power.

 Battery (4V): Stores the generated energy.

 Voltage Booster: Elevates voltage from 4V to 12V for practical use.

 DC-to-AC Converter: Converts stored DC energy to AC for broader application.

 Switch: Controls power to the AC device.

 Bulb with Holder: Demonstrates energy output in lighting.

 Wires for Connection: Provides connectivity between components.

This footstep energy generation project advances the concept of energy harvesting,
highlighting the potential of piezoelectric technology in urban energy solutions. It
demonstrates how human motion can contribute to sustainable energy production, paving
the way for innovative applications in urban and environmental design.
