GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
 All questions are compulsory.
 The question paper consists of 22 questions divided into four sections A, B, C & D.
 Section A comprises of 16 MCQs (objectives) 1 mark each. Section B comprises of 7
questions 2 marks each. Section C comprises of 6 questions of 3 marks each. Section D

Q7) Check whether the value given in the brackets is a solution to the given equation or

Q9) Find the value of x in the given figure.

Q10) Find the angle which is one fifth of its complementary angle also find the measure of its
supplementary angle.
Q11) A motorcycle wheel makes 7500 revolutions to cover distance of 16.5 km in find the
radius as well as diameter of the wheel.

Q14) DL and BM are the heights on sides AB and AD respectively of parallelogram


ABCD. If the area of the parallelogram is 1470 , AB is 35 cm and BM is 30 cm, find
AD and DL.

Q15) From the sum of 11 –3 + 8 and 2 + 12 – 1 subtract the sum of 9 + –1


and 3 + 3 + 18.
Q16) (i) The sum of two odd consecutive numbers is 44. Find the numbers.
(ii) Ram’s age is 5 years more than twice the age of his daughter. The sum of their ages is
89 years. Find the age of both of them.

(b) Can 4 cm, 9.5 cm and 5.5 cm be the sides of a triangle. Justify your answer.

Q18) Income and expenses recorded on quarterly basis for year 2023 of a company are as
follows: Draw a double bar graph, choosing an appropriate scale and answer the question
given below:

Find the ratio of total income to the total expenses.
Q19) A rock contains calcium, carbon and oxygen in the ratio of 9:4:12. Find the Percentage
of each element in the rock. If in a piece of rock, calcium is 27 g, what is the weight of the
piece of rock?
Q20) (a) My mother says, in her childhood petrol was Rs.15 a litre. It is Rs. 105 per litre
today. By what Percentage has the price gone up?
(b) If Pooja pays an interest of Rs.750 for 2 years on a sum of Rs.4500, find the rate of
interest.
Q21) A wire is bent in the shape of a square of side 66 cm. If the same wire is looped in the
form of a circle, what will be the radius of the circle? Also find which figure encloses more
area, the circle or the square? (Take π = )

(i) In ∆PQR, PQ and PR are altitudes of the triangle.
(ii) In ∆XYZ, YL is an altitude in the exterior of the triangle.
b) ∆ABC is right angled at A. AD is perpendicular to BC. If AB = 5 cm, BC = 13 cm and AC =
12 cm, Find the area of ∆ABC. Also find the length of AD.
