C. Finite and Non-Finite Verbs

 Finite Verbs
Finite Verb is the main verb in an English sentence. This type of verb is one that is not
accompanied by an auxiliary verb at all or changed into a present participle ( verb-
ing).
Finite Verb adalah kata kerja utama dalam kalimat bahasa Inggris. Jenis kata kerja ini
adalah yang sama sekali tidak ditemani oleh auxiliary ataupun diubah bentuknya
menjadi present participle (verb-ing).

Examples:
o The verbs appear in each sentence
o The president promises to change Indonesia
o The truck demolished the restaurant
 Non-Finite Verbs
Non-Finite Verb is actually the opposite of Finite Verb . If Finite Verb is the main verb
in English and cannot be changed using auxiliary verb , then Non-Finite can be
changed into a verb in the form of participle, gerund, infinitive, adjective, and adverb.
Non-Finite Verb sebetulnya adalah kebalikan dari Finite Verb. Bila Finite Verb adalah
kata kerja utama dalam bahasa Inggris dan tak dapat diubah dengan menggunakan
auxiliary verb, maka Non-Finite bisa diubah menjadi kata kerja yang berbentuk
sebagai participle, gerund, infinitive, kata sifat, dan kata keterangan.

Examples:
o She asked me to do this job
o Delivering a pizza is a simple job
o I will stand on the right side
