Job Title: SQL Database Administrator

Job Description: We are looking for a skilled SQL Database Administrator to join our
team. As a SQL DBA, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance,
availability, and security of our SQL Server databases. You will work closely with
our development and infrastructure teams to optimize database configurations,
troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server database instances across


development, testing, and production environments.

• Perform database upgrades, migrations, and patches as necessary to ensure


the latest features and security fixes.

• Monitor database performance and capacity, and tune queries and


configurations for optimal efficiency.

• Implement and maintain database security policies, including user access


control, encryption, and auditing.

• Design and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect data


integrity and minimize downtime.

• Troubleshoot database-related issues and coordinate with other teams for


resolution.

• Create and maintain documentation, including database schemas,


configurations, and procedures.

• Assist developers in optimizing SQL queries and database performance.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest SQL Server features, best practices, and
industry trends.

• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and maintenance.

Requirements:

• National Diploma in IT, IS, or Computer Engineering.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in SQL database administration.

• Proficiency in administering Microsoft SQL Server databases (versions 2012


and above).

• Strong understanding of database architecture, normalization, and indexing


strategies.
• Experience with database backup and recovery procedures.

• Knowledge of database security concepts and best practices.

• Familiarity with performance tuning techniques and tools.

• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions (e.g.,


AlwaysOn, mirroring, clustering).

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced


environment.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
