Iot Based Health Monitoring System Using Nodemcu

The document outlines an IoT-based health monitoring system using NodeMCU that allows for daily health checks without visiting a doctor. It utilizes various sensors to measure vital signs like heartbeat and blood pressure, powered by solar energy, and transmits data to the Thingspeak cloud for remote monitoring. This system aims to enhance healthcare accessibility and efficiency by facilitating real-time monitoring and alerts for critical health situations.

IOT BASED HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEM USING NODEMCU

ABSTRACT

Health is the most important part of any human’s life. Most people live a busy life in which
going to a doctor for weekly or even monthly check-up is an impossible task. Without
monitoring your health it is not possible to know whether you are a healthy or a sick person.
So to resolve these issues, we design a project that can monitor your health every day without
going to a doctor.Internet of Things (IoT) is a new technological paradigm thatcan connect
things from various fields through the Internet. For the IoT connected healthcare applications,
all the sensors are connected to NodeMCU. Through this system, we can measure heartbeat,
BP.Through sensors, it is possible to measure all these values. Here all the sensors are
powered using a solar power system. All these analog sensors can be connected to NodeMCU
through any of the six analog pins. These values are then used for detecting any critical
situation. In the case of a critical situation, an alert can be given as a message. Also, it is
possible to monitor the person’s health from any location in the world through the
Thingspeak
cloud.Data from sensors is uploaded to the Thingspeak periodically without any interruption
if the internet is available. Here ESP8266 Wi-Fi module is used for connecting NodeMCU to
the internet.Healthcare monitoring system in hospitals and many other health centers has
experienced significant growth, and portable healthcare monitoring systems with emerging
technologies are becoming of great concern to many countries worldwide nowadays.
The advent of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies facilitates the progress of healthcare
from face-to-face consulting to telemedicine. This paper proposes a smart healthcare system
in IoT environment that can monitor a patient’s basic health signs as well as the room
condition where the patients are now in real-time. In this system, five sensors are used to
capture the data from hospital environment named heart beat sensor, body temperature sensor
through this project we can measure a person’s different health paramameters effortlessly. The
condition of the patients is conveyed via a portal to medical staff, where they can process and
analyze the current situation of the patients. The developed prototype is well suited for
healthcare monitoring that is proved by the effectiveness of the system
