READING: OVERVIEW

A. Writing Task 1: Dynamic Chart (Overview)

The graph below shows average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per person in the United
Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.

- Over the period shown:


+ Italy & Portugal: increased significantly/ drastically / markedly /
pronouncedly
+ the UK and Sweden: decreased (by varying degrees)
+ the UK: the highest throughout
- Overview:

What is the most striking when looking at the data is that the amounts of
carbon dioxide released per head in Italy and Portugal increased significantly
over the period shown, whereas those in the UK and Sweden witnessed falls.
It is also notable that the UK still remained the nation with the highest
individual CO2 output.

- Useful structure:
