Rubric for Role-Playing Assessments

1. Character Development & Authenticity (30 points)

Excellent (27-30 points): The role is performed with deep understanding and authenticity. The
character’s actions, speech, and emotions are highly believable and consistent.

Proficient (23-26 points): The role is performed with good understanding and consistency. Some minor
inconsistencies, but the character remains mostly authentic.

Basic (19-22 points): The role is performed with some understanding, but character portrayal is
inconsistent or lacks depth.

Needs Improvement (0-18 points): The role lacks authenticity and consistency. The character is not
convincingly portrayed.

2. Creativity & Engagement (25 points)

Excellent (23-25 points): The performance is highly creative and engaging. The participant adds unique
elements to enhance the role-playing experience.

Proficient (20-22 points): The performance is creative and engaging, though some parts may lack
originality.

Basic (17-19 points): Some creativity is present, but the performance lacks full engagement or originality.

Needs Improvement (0-16 points): The performance lacks creativity and engagement. The role-playing
appears uninspired.

3. Interaction & Collaboration (20 points)

Excellent (18-20 points): Demonstrates strong interaction and teamwork. Responds appropriately to
others and enhances group dynamics.

Proficient (15-17 points): Engages well with others, though some responses may lack depth or
consistency.

Basic (12-14 points): Some interaction, but responses may be weak or inconsistent.

Needs Improvement (0-11 points): Limited interaction with others. Struggles to respond effectively.

4. Clarity & Expression (15 points)

Excellent (14-15 points): The participant speaks clearly, uses appropriate tone, gestures, and facial
expressions to convey meaning.

Proficient (12-13 points): Mostly clear speech and expression, though minor areas for improvement
exist.
Basic (10-11 points): Speech and expression are sometimes unclear or inconsistent.

Needs Improvement (0-9 points): Speech is difficult to understand, with weak expression or tone.

5. Adherence to Scenario & Objectives (10 points)

Excellent (9-10 points): Fully follows the scenario and meets all objectives effectively.

Proficient (7-8 points): Mostly adheres to the scenario with minor deviations.

Basic (5-6 points): Partially follows the scenario but misses key objectives.

Needs Improvement (0-4 points): Does not adhere to the scenario or meet objectives.
